There is no official “top rides” ranking at Knott’s Berry Farm. This visitor-focused shortlist instead groups standout choices by experience, from major coasters to family and water attractions, so you can decide what suits your group. Check the park’s rides and experiences guide and current map before your visit; operations, hours and waits can change by date.
What are the best rides at Knott’s Berry Farm?
Start with the kind of day your group wants: a classic wooden coaster, a high-intensity ride with inversions, a gentler family attraction, or a water ride. Knott’s is organized into themed areas—including Ghost Town, the Boardwalk, Camp Snoopy and Fiesta Village—so setting and proximity matter as well as ride intensity. The park’s rides and experiences overview and official map and guide are useful for checking the current attraction lineup.
For a classic major coaster: GhostRider
GhostRider is the wooden-coaster choice in Ghost Town. Knott’s lists it at 118 feet tall, with more than 4,500 feet of track and 14 hills; the ride is described as lasting nearly three minutes. Its listed minimum height is 48 inches. The park also notes a nighttime ride option. These figures are the park’s descriptions, not independent measurements. See the official GhostRider page for details.
For inversions and a steep drop: HangTime
On the Boardwalk, HangTime delivers a more inversion-focused coaster experience. Knott’s describes a 150-foot lift, a pause near the top, a 96-degree drop and five inversions. The listed height range is 48 to 77 inches. Check the official HangTime page for its current rider information.

For a family-focused change of pace
Look through the attractions in Camp Snoopy and other themed areas on the current park map to find options that suit your child’s height and comfort level. Do not assume that an attraction is open simply because it appears on a map; operating status is date-dependent.
For a water-ride change of pace
Timber Mountain Log Ride and Calico River Rapids are listed water attractions. They offer a different experience from the coasters, but the amount of water exposure can vary; the park information does not promise how wet a rider will get. If you prefer, bring a compact poncho as a comfort choice, not a requirement.
Which rides should I prioritize at Knott’s?
Use these practical filters to narrow the list before you arrive:
- Thrill level: Put GhostRider or HangTime higher on the list if your group is seeking major-coaster thrills. Choose family attractions for a gentler pace.
- Height eligibility: Check each attraction’s rules against the height of the riders who want to go on it.
- Setting and location: Group choices by themed area—such as Ghost Town, the Boardwalk, Camp Snoopy or Fiesta Village—to make your route more manageable.
- Water exposure: Treat water rides as a separate choice from dry rides, without assuming a specific level of splash or dampness.
- Access needs: Review the park’s accessibility information and contact Guest Services if you need help assessing an attraction or accommodation.
What rides can my child go on?
There is no single answer for the whole park: eligibility depends on the specific attraction and rider. Knott’s says height requirements are posted at ride entrances, and the May 2026 park guide states: “For the safety of all park guests, all rides have rider height requirements based on the manufacturers’ recommendations.” Some rides also require an eligible supervising companion.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe guide defines a supervising companion as a person at least 14 years old who also meets that attraction’s requirements. Check the current guide and the sign at each entrance, since a child’s height alone may not settle whether they can ride independently or with an adult.
Which Knott’s rides have height requirements?
All rides have rider height requirements, according to the park’s May 2026 guide. For the two featured coasters, Knott’s lists a 48-inch minimum for GhostRider and a 48-to-77-inch height range for HangTime. Other attractions have their own rules, so verify them in the current guide or at the ride entrance rather than applying one ride’s limit to another.
