The final on-air panel consisted of Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood. Their farewell closed a show whose panel had changed many times since its debut.

Its initial hosts included Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete; Marissa Jaret Winokur served as a roving reporter. Gilbert left her on-camera role in 2019, and Osbourne departed in 2021 after a heated on-air discussion with Underwood.

The episode looked back on the program with montages spanning its run, then ended with a closing moment involving the cast and crew. TVLine reported that Morales gave the episode total as 2,993. CBS figures reported by TheWrap described the run as just under 3,000 episodes.

A farewell centered on conversation
Kloots’s closing message was a plea to keep talking across differences. As quoted by TVLine, she told viewers: “Listen to each other. Talk to one another. Don’t fight with each other. Really appreciate each other’s opinions.”
Gbajabiamila also reflected on the example the panel hoped to set. TVLine quoted him saying, “I hope that what we’ve modeled here is replicated throughout the world. We can have good conversations, be a difference, but have love and respect for each other.”

How long did the show run, and what did it achieve?
TheWrap reported the debut date as October 18, 2010. In figures attributed to CBS, the program welcomed more than 10,800 guests, gave away more than $103 million and reached more than 250,000 audience members. CBS also cited 11 Daytime Emmy Awards; the Associated Press reported that award total as well.
The episode count depends on how it is expressed: Morales’s figure, as reported by TVLine on December 20, 2024, was 2,993, while TheWrap described the total using CBS figures as just under 3,000.

Why was The Talk cancelled?
CBS announced that the series would end after season 15, but the cited announcement and coverage do not identify a particular business rationale. They do not establish a ratings, financial or scheduling cause, so a more specific explanation would be speculation.
