Spoilers for Season 3, Episode 7. “Last Hurrah” makes Jeremiah’s behavior look painfully self-protective, and the closer Belly gets to marrying him, the harder it is to excuse the damage that protection can do. But “cold-hearted villain” is more persuasive as a verdict on his choices than as a complete account of who he is: Belly’s concealment and Conrad’s confession complicate the blame without erasing Jeremiah’s responsibility.
Prime Video identifies the episode as “Last Hurrah,” released August 20, 2025, with a listed runtime of 58 minutes. Its official synopsis sets the action around Belly and Jeremiah’s night out with friends before their wedding, where alcohol and secrets bring buried tensions into the open. Why Jeremiah looks so damning here
The episode’s pressure point is not simply whether Jeremiah is jealous or angry. It is that the couple is approaching a wedding while important truths remain unevenly shared. The night out becomes a test of trust at exactly the moment when the couple should be able to speak plainly about what threatens that trust.
Recaps identify two revelations at the center of the conflict: Conrad confesses his feelings to Belly, and Belly has kept secret her time alone with Conrad at the previous Christmas. IndiaTimes’ recap and Brit + Co’s recap describe those complications. They matter because they make the night more than a simple contest between a good brother and a bad one: each person is implicated in a relationship built on withheld or newly disclosed information.

Still, context is not absolution. Whatever fear or resentment may be driving Jeremiah, his treatment of Belly has to be judged by its impact as well as its possible motive. A partner’s insecurity can be understandable and still become a way of making the other person carry the cost. That is the case for the episode’s harshest reading of him: at a point when Belly needs honesty and emotional safety, his choices make the relationship feel less like a shared commitment than a struggle over who has the upper hand.
Does “cold-hearted villain” fit Jeremiah?
As a description of the episode’s effect, the phrase fits. Jeremiah comes across as capable of putting his own hurt ahead of Belly’s need for clarity. The wedding looming in the background sharpens that impression: the question is not merely whether he feels threatened by Conrad, but whether he can face the consequences of that threat without turning it into pressure on Belly.

As a final judgment on his character, “villain” is too neat. The available conflict points to fear, resentment, and self-protection as plausible explanations alongside cruelty. An explanation can make a choice legible; it does not make the choice harmless. The most useful distinction is between deciding that Jeremiah feels wounded and deciding that Belly should therefore absorb the fallout. The episode gives viewers reason to reject the second conclusion.
Belly and Conrad are part of the same trust problem
Jeremiah is not the only one whose conduct deserves scrutiny. Belly’s silence about her Christmas encounter with Conrad means she has helped preserve a version of the relationship that leaves Jeremiah without information relevant to their future. That does not make her responsible for how Jeremiah responds, but it does make the conflict more complicated than a straightforward betrayal by one person.

Conrad’s confession shifts the emotional stakes because it arrives while Belly is on the verge of marrying his brother. The confession may be sincere, but sincerity does not settle what Belly should do or make the timing uncomplicated. As IndiaTimes’ recap frames it, the revelation leaves Belly torn over whether to continue with the wedding. The episode’s sharper question is whether any of the three can make a decision based on the truth as it stands now, rather than on an old rivalry or a carefully maintained silence.
Does the party setting earn the escalation?
The setup is economical: one last night out before a wedding, with secrets surfacing as the evening unfolds. Prime Video’s synopsis makes that structure explicit, and it gives the episode a natural reason to bring private tensions into a social setting. The official listing

That choice also creates a useful contrast. A celebration suggests a couple moving confidently toward marriage; disclosures instead expose how little confidence they have in what the other knows and feels. The emotional escalation works best when the party is understood not as a cure for the triangle but as the occasion that makes its unresolved terms impossible to ignore. Without independently established production commentary, that is a reading of the episode’s construction, not a claim about the creators’ intent.

The television series is based on Jenny Han’s book series, and the larger story centers on Belly and the Fisher brothers, as The Daily Beast’s series coverage notes. That background can make a book-versus-screen comparison tempting, but this episode’s conflict is clear without the novels: it turns on disclosure, timing, and whether a wedding can proceed while the people involved are still reckoning with what they have hidden or admitted.

“Last Hurrah” therefore makes the strongest case against Jeremiah when it shows the consequences of his self-protection, not when viewers treat “villain” as a settled label. Belly’s secrecy and Conrad’s confession widen the circle of responsibility; they do not cancel Jeremiah’s. The episode leaves the wedding question emotionally live because its characters have not yet shown that they can make trust a shared obligation.
