The Sticky season 2 has not been announced. TVLine reported on February 21, 2025, that Prime Video cancelled the series after one season, saying it had confirmed the news and crediting Deadline with breaking it. The sources available do not include a direct cancellation statement from Prime Video, so the status is best described as a reported cancellation—not an official explanation from the streamer.
Is The Sticky season 2 cancelled?
TVLine reported that Prime Video cancelled The Sticky after its first season. The report, published February 21, 2025, says TVLine confirmed the cancellation and attributes the initial story to Deadline. No season 2 announcement appears in the sources reviewed, and no direct Prime Video cancellation statement is included.
TVLine relayed that the series had not brought in enough of an audience, attributing that detail to Deadline. It should not be presented as a reason Prime Video officially gave: the available sources do not include an on-record explanation from the streamer. TVLine’s cancellation report
When did season 1 come out, and how many episodes are there?
All six episodes of season 1 premiered globally on Prime Video on December 6, 2024, according to Amazon Canada’s October 28, 2024 announcement. That makes the reported cancellation a one-season outcome, rather than a case where a second season had already been announced and later withdrawn.

Amazon describes the Quebec-set comedy as a fictional crime caper about maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry, who joins Boston mobster Mike Byrne and security guard Remy Bouchard in a plan to steal syrup from Quebec’s reserves. The series takes inspiration from the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist; it is a scripted comedy, not a documentary account of the crime. Amazon Canada’s series announcement
What was the real maple syrup heist?
Amazon Canada’s April 13, 2022 announcement said the real theft involved more than $18 million CAD in Quebec’s national maple syrup reserves, which it said represented more than 70% of global maple syrup supply. Those figures are Amazon Canada’s description of the event, not an independently verified accounting here. Amazon Canada’s 2022 announcement
A later Amazon Canada announcement described more than $18 million worth of syrup as stolen from Quebec’s national reserves but did not specify a currency in that sentence. The two descriptions should not be combined into a single figure with an assumed currency. The real theft supplies the series’ premise; the show’s characters and plot are dramatized.
