The women were 19-year-old Suzie Streeter, 47-year-old Sherrill Levitt, and 18-year-old Stacy McCall, according to local station KY3. The FBI uses the spellings “Suzanne” and “Sherill” on its case page; KY3 uses “Suzie” and “Sherrill.”

KY3 reports that family and friends found the women missing. The front door was open, and the family dog, cars, money, clothing, keys, and other personal belongings remained at the home. What happened in the investigation?
Investigators pursued searches and leads over the years, but the developments described in KY3’s reporting did not resolve the case.
- 1993: Investigators searched 40 acres in Webster County, KY3 reports.
- 1996: KY3 recounts an interview with Robert Craig Cox that was subpoenaed and presented to a grand jury. The grand jury returned no charges.
- 2002: Investigators searched a concrete company after a report involving men with a green van. Bones recovered there were determined to be too old to belong to the women, according to KY3.
- 2003: A search south of Cassville recovered possible blood and part of a green vehicle. KY3 says laboratory testing of the blood was inconclusive.
- 2007: A private ground-penetrating-radar search contributed to a parking-garage theory. KY3 reports that police did not consider the theory credible and did not seek to destroy the garage concrete or search beneath it.
In a 1996 interview with reporter Dennis Graves, Cox said, “I know that they are dead. I’ll say that. And I know that.” KY3 reproduced the exchange in its retrospective. No. The case remains unresolved in the reporting available here. The searches and theories above should not be treated as findings: some evidence was inconclusive or did not match the women, and no charge followed the 1996 grand-jury presentation described by KY3.
