Cutouts is The Smile’s second studio album released in under a year, not the second album in the group’s career. XL Recordings released it on October 4, 2024, following Wall of Eyes in January.
Is Cutouts The Smile’s second album?
No. XL Recordings describes Cutouts as The Smile’s third album overall. The band’s debut, A Light for Attracting Attention, came out in 2022; Wall of Eyes followed in January 2024, and Cutouts arrived on October 4, 2024. XL calls it the group’s second studio album released in under a year.
That distinction explains the “second LP of 2024” description: it refers to the band releasing two studio albums during the same year, not to Cutouts being their second album overall.
What’s on the album?
