How the blouse scene plays out
The wardrobe problem starts at the Alex Theatre. While eating popcorn, Elaine loses an antique button from her blouse. She returns to the lobby without realizing the blouse is open, and the rest of the scene is built on that unnoticed gap.
Outside, Elaine complains to a police officer that a florist is wasting water by hosing down the sidewalk. The officer agrees with her and turns his attention to the florist. The joke comes from the misunderstanding and from Elaine’s obliviousness, not from anyone pointing out her clothing.
#1 Best Overall
This matters for search, because many viewers remember the blouse as the centerpiece of the episode. It is one thread among several. The gum is not stuck to Elaine or tied to the blouse.
Where the chewing gum comes in
The gum belongs to the episode’s other story. Lloyd Braun offers gum to Jerry, and Jerry acts as though he likes it so that Lloyd feels reassured. The episode description on Apple TV also connects Lloyd with packs of Chinese gum, which is the detail many viewers recall when they try to place it.
Rank #2
So if you are trying to match a half-remembered scene, look for the two separate threads: Elaine’s open blouse at the theatre and outside afterward, and Jerry’s polite pretending with Lloyd’s gum.
