Those were 2024 terms—not current entry details.
What was America’s Next Top Hitmaker?
Colossal operated the 2024 online competition for musicians and bands as a fundraiser on behalf of DTCare, according to the May 1, 2024, Rolling Stone Canada article. The winner was selected by public voting.
The article presented the contest as an opportunity for emerging artists to gain exposure and participate in workshops. It named Joseph Wooten of the Steve Miller Band and songwriter and producer Trey Bruce among the workshop contributors. The article also described MusiCares as supporting the health and welfare of the music community and mentioned its Humans of Hip Hop initiative; those descriptions reflect the 2024 article, not independently refreshed program information.
What did the 2024 winner receive?
The 2024 article listed a $10,000 cash prize, an appearance in Rolling Stone, a performance at the Future of Music Showcase in Austin, and a mentoring session with Busta Rhymes. It also cited more than 60 million monthly readers or reach for Rolling Stone; that is the figure reported in the 2024 article, not a current audience measurement.

How did the 2025 campaign differ?
A separate official America’s Next Top Hitmaker campaign page describes a 2025 edition with different terms. It listed a $50,000 prize, an appearance in Rolling Stone, and a performance at the 2025 Global Citizen Festival in New York City. The page named Global Citizen as beneficiary and SoundCloud and Fender as sponsors. It described the festival audience as more than 60,000 attendees; this was the page’s expectation for that 2025 event.
