That followed a February relisting at $400,000 and a reported bidding war. The earlier nearly $4 million price was an asking price in 2025, not a sale.
How much did the Breaking Bad house sell for?
The property at 3828 Piermont Drive NE in Albuquerque sold for a reported $1.3 million, according to Albuquerque Business First’s February 25, 2026 report. That is the reported closing price, distinct from both the home’s earlier asking prices.
The Albuquerque Journal reported that roughly 20 offers came in after the house was relisted for $400,000, setting off an intense bidding war. That offer count was reported by the listing agent; it is not a measurement of wider fan interest. The final reported price was more than triple the relisting ask.
Why was it listed for nearly $4 million?
The family first put the home on the market in January 2025 for nearly $4 million, a figure tied to its notoriety as a television location and potential tourist appeal. The Associated Press described the asking price as just under $4 million; The Guardian reported it as $4 million. Neither figure was a completed sale or an independent appraisal. The original listing drew no serious interest over more than a year and was removed in December, the Albuquerque Journal reported in February 2026.

For context, The Guardian reported a Zillow neighborhood median of $421,000 in 2025. That was a neighborhood comparison, not a valuation of this particular house. The contrast helps explain why the initial asking price attracted attention, but it does not establish what the property was worth.
Why the asking price and sale price diverged
The two listings reflected different approaches. The family’s original price leaned on the house’s pop-culture fame; the 2026 listing agent, Alicia Feil, took a conventional residential-market approach and set the ask at $400,000. The bidding that followed produced the reported $1.3 million closing price. The sequence shows what buyers ultimately paid in this sale, not a general market value for homes associated with television.

Feil also questioned whether a museum or other large commercial attraction would fit the residential neighborhood, saying: “It’s a residential neighborhood; you can’t just plop a large commercial business into a residential neighborhood.” She suggested a rental could be a possibility, but neither a museum nor a rental was an announced plan. The Journal reported that Feil could not confirm online personality Adin Ross as the buyer, despite Ross publicly claiming he had bought the property. The later closing report gives the sale price, but the reporting cited here does not independently establish the buyer’s identity or plans.
Why the family decided to sell
The house had been the family home for decades. The parents bought it in 1973, and family members lived there for more than five decades. A scout approached the family about filming the pilot in 2006; the series aired from 2008 to 2013, and the home’s exterior and backyard became associated with Walter White’s fictional house.

After the parents died and their adult children moved on, the family chose to sell. Fame had also brought unwanted attention: reported incidents included visitors trying to throw pizzas, seeking access to the yard or pool, and prompting the family to add fencing and security. Those accounts describe the family’s experience, not the behavior of every visitor. Joanne Quintana told local media that hundreds of cars could pass on some days; The Guardian reported her estimate of an average 300 cars a day. Those are attributed estimates, not independently counted traffic figures.
Family members also described the house as an ordinary place of childhood and family memories. Its public identity as a television landmark and its private life as a home were not the same thing—a distinction that matters in understanding why the sale was not simply a chance to cash in on a famous address.

Is the house still for sale?
No. The reported February 25, 2026 sale means the house is no longer on the market. Although possible uses discussed in the coverage included a private residence, a themed rental, or a museum or tourist attraction, none is established as the buyer’s plan. Any commercial use would also need to be considered against the residential setting and applicable rules; the reporting cited here does not establish what use has been approved or will take place.
