The Platform 2 is a 2024 Spanish thriller sequel set in the Pit, where prisoners struggle over rules for sharing food. Netflix confirms four central actor-character pairings: Milena Smit as Perempuán, Hovik Keuchkerian as Zamiatin, Natalia Tena as Sahabat, and Óscar Jaenada as Dagin Babi. Here’s who’s confirmed, what the premise establishes, and where to check viewing options.
Confirmed cast and character names
Netflix Tudum identifies these four performers by character name:
| Character | Actor |
|---|---|
| Perempuán | Milena Smit |
| Zamiatin | Hovik Keuchkerian |
| Sahabat | Natalia Tena |
| Dagin Babi | Óscar Jaenada |
Netflix’s title page also lists Iván Massagué, Zorion Eguileor, Bastien Ughetto, Armando Buika, Pedro Bachura, and Antonia San Juan in the cast. The listing does not pair each of those performers with a character name, so those roles are not assigned here. Netflix Tudum’s cast and film guide is the source for the four named pairings.
What the characters face in the Pit
The story returns to the Vertical Self-Management center, commonly called the Pit. A food-laden platform descends through its levels, giving prisoners only a short time to eat. The conflict centers on an attempt to enforce a rule that each person should eat only the food they designated as their favorite, while a powerful ruler imposes order. Netflix’s synopsis describes the new arrival becoming caught up in the struggle over this system; it does not provide a full account of every character’s motives or the ending.

Director, production and connection to the first film
Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia directed The Platform 2. Netflix Tudum reports that filming took place in Bilbao, Spain. Netflix’s September 2024 announcement credits producers Carlos Juárez, Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia, and Raquel Perea, from the Basque Films team.
Netflix describes the film as a sequel that expands the universe of The Platform, with new characters and returning faces. The first film was not a book adaptation, according to Netflix Tudum; this sequel continues that film universe. Gaztelu-Urrutia told Netflix Tudum the team wanted to expand it with “a plot full of surprises, obstacles, new characters … and old friends,” and described the second installment as “an exciting physical journey.”
