The Night Agent season 2 premiered on Netflix on January 23, 2025. Its 10 episodes follow Peter Sutherland as he enters the covert Night Action program and confronts a suspected intelligence leak. Netflix released the trailer on December 25, 2024; its dialogue teases a mole and stolen experimental weapons, but those lines are promotional hints rather than proof of every allegation in the story.
When did The Night Agent season 2 come out?
Season 2 premiered on January 23, 2025, and all 10 episodes are available on Netflix, according to Netflix Tudum’s season-two guide. The series is no longer awaiting a second season: Netflix’s current catalog page lists three seasons.
What is the plot of season 2?
After Peter Sutherland helps save the president in season 1, he earns the opportunity to join Night Action. His new work exposes him to lethal threats in a world where trust is hard to come by. The season opens about nine months after the season-one finale, with Peter on a dangerous mission in Thailand, Netflix says in its season-two guide.
In the official trailer, dialogue points to credible evidence of a CIA leak and suggests Peter is suspected of going AWOL while investigating. One line says, “We have a mole selling leaked American intelligence to the highest bidder.” The trailer also raises the stakes with stolen experimental weapons said to be capable of wiping out Manhattan. These are trailer claims and teasers, not independent confirmation that every allegation is true in the completed season.

Netflix says production took place in New York City and Thailand. Thailand also figures in the story: Peter is on a mission there when the season begins. Netflix Tudum’s guide identifies both filming locations.
What does the trailer reveal, and what is confirmed?
Netflix published the season-two trailer on December 25, 2024. It confirms the January 23 premiere date and previews a plot involving a suspected CIA leak, Peter’s investigation, and experimental weapons. The trailer transcript does not identify the speaker of the mole line by name, so it should not be attributed to a particular character. Read the trailer and transcript as promotional material, not as a verified account of every twist.

Actor Gabriel Basso told Tudum that Peter is trying to find his footing in this new world and “hasn’t had time to adjust.” Creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan teased, “Wait until you see the first 13 minutes of this season.” Both comments appear in Netflix Tudum’s season-two guide.
Are there season-two rumors or news about a third season?
No specific season-two rumor is established by the cited official material. The concrete news is that season 2 has already been released and Netflix’s catalog lists three seasons. Netflix published a season-three article on February 19, 2026, but its season-one audience statistic should not be mistaken for season-two viewership: Netflix reported that season 1 received 98.2 million views in its first 91 days. That figure is about the first season, not the second. See Netflix Tudum’s season-three article.
