What the trailer is about
Murderbot is a sci-fi thriller/comedy adapted from Martha Wells’ The Murderbot Diaries. Alexander Skarsgård plays a security construct that hacks its own controls and becomes free-willed. It must conceal that independence while protecting scientists on a dangerous assignment, despite being horrified by human emotion and more interested in futuristic soap operas and figuring out its place in the universe.
Apple’s announced ensemble also includes Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Akshay Khanna, Tattiawna Jones and Tamara Podemski. The official series page classifies the show as sci-fi and TV-MA, and lists Chris and Paul Weitz among its writers, directors and executive producers.
