Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is a 2026 horror film built around a missing-child mystery in Egypt—not a continuation of the earlier adventure films. It opened in North America on April 17, 2026, after beginning its international rollout on April 15. HBO Max announced a streaming debut for July 3, 2026; current availability depends on your region.
What is the 2026 Mummy movie about?
Written and directed by Lee Cronin, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy follows Charlie, a journalist stationed in Egypt. His young daughter Katie disappears in the desert; eight years later, she returns in a changed state. The story follows the mystery of what happened during those missing years and a cursed Egyptian location, according to Warner Bros. Japan’s official synopsis: Warner Bros. Japan film page.
The official materials describe this production on its own terms as an Egyptian-set mystery horror story. They do not present it as a direct continuation of earlier Mummy adventure films.
When did Lee Cronin’s The Mummy come out?
Blumhouse lists an international rollout beginning April 15, 2026, and a North American theatrical and IMAX opening on April 17, 2026. Those dates have passed. The film’s official release details are listed by Blumhouse.
