They are recognizable for different reasons, but there is no reliable count or ranking proving which anime pose people copy most. Here’s what each one involves—and what makes it work as a real-world reenactment.
How to think about iconic anime poses
“Iconic” here describes a visual style or movement that is easy to recognize and fun to reenact, not a measured popularity ranking. The examples differ in practical ways: some are still poses, one is a running style, and one is designed for a group. Those differences affect what it takes to recreate each one.
| Example | Solo or group | Still or moving | What a reenactment calls for |
|---|---|---|---|
| JoJo posing | Usually solo, though fans can pose together | Primarily a still pose | Expressive posture; some poses call for flexibility and balance |
| Naruto Run | Solo | Moving | Running while leaning forward with both arms extended behind |
| Ginyu Force Special Fighting Pose | Group | Primarily a still formation | Several people coordinating their positions |
How do you do a JoJo pose?
There is no single JoJo pose to copy. The series’ distinctive stances are part of its theatrical visual language, not an isolated gag. In official production notes, the anime team says it set out to reproduce the manga’s distinctive features, including its unique posing. The same production account describes the character acting as theatrical: the gestures and delivery are deliberately unlike ordinary daily behavior.
Toshiyuki Kato, identified in the official feature as a director from the first season, put the contrast this way: “In our daily lives, we don’t have the chance to pose in a unique way, nor do we have the chance to say lines like, ‘Do you remember how much bread you have eaten in your life?’” Read the official JoJo production feature.

- DARK DEKU: Hunt down the League of Villains with Total Anime Izuku Midoriya
- MY HERO ACADEMIA: 6.5-inch highly poseable figure is based on My Hero Academia
- 30+ ARTICULATION POINTS: Features 30+ points of articulation for dynamic play and display
- CUSTOMIZABILITY: Includes removable backpack, swappable faceplates, and alternate hands for customization
- SPECIAL ACCESSORY: Also includes energy effects to display Fa Jin and Blackwhip
To make a JoJo-inspired pose read clearly in a photo, choose one with a strong outline, turn the body rather than standing square to the camera, and make the hands and face intentional. The point is theatrical exaggeration; you do not need to reproduce a difficult angle if it feels unstable.
Fans have also taken the style into group settings. A translated archive of a November 2007 Eureka interview records Hirohiko Araki discussing photographs of an event in front of Osaka Castle where dozens of people posed and jumped. In that translated account, Araki said: “I started doing this because I wanted to put fantasy into reality, so I didn’t think it was actually possible in reality (laughs). But they managed to do it… It really surprised me at first (laughs).” The archive presents a secondary translation, so the quotation and event description should be understood in that context. What is the Naruto Run?
The Naruto Run is a fan-given name for the distinctive running style used by characters in NARUTO. The official NARUTO site describes the runner leaning the upper body forward with both arms stretched behind, creating an airplane-like silhouette. The official feature, published June 8, 2023, describes the movement and its real-world test setup.
That feature asks whether the style works as a real running technique and brings in professional runner Takaya Mitsuka for a 50-meter attempt. The available account establishes the setup, not a verified result to quote here. Treat the Naruto Run as a recognizable bit of choreography rather than evidence of a faster or more effective way to run.

What is the Ginyu Force pose?
The Ginyu Force’s Special Fighting Pose is a coordinated group formation: its members strike distinct, theatrical stances together. It works especially well for a group photo because the arrangement—not just any one character’s posture—is the recognizable part.
Dragon Ball’s official site has explicitly presented licensed figures as parts of the formation. In a March 4, 2024 announcement, it said Ginyu would join a figure series in his part of the Special Fighting Pose, with the other members slated for release from April through June. The announcement described the item as crane-game-exclusive, so it is evidence of an official figure reenactment, not a guarantee of current availability. Read the Dragon Ball figure announcement.

Which pose is easiest to recreate?
It depends on whether you have a group, want a still photo, or want to imitate movement. Use the practical differences—not an unsupported popularity ranking—to choose:
- For a solo still photo: Try a JoJo-inspired stance. Pick a posture you can hold comfortably and emphasize the silhouette and expression.
- For movement: The Naruto Run is the obvious choice. It requires running, so choose a safe, clear space and do not treat its anime appearance as running advice.
- For a group photo: The Ginyu Force formation needs several people and a little coordination. Agree on positions before taking the shot so the group reads as one composition.
Each represents a different kind of fan reenactment: theatrical posing, a recognizable movement, or a team formation. They are strong examples of anime style crossing into real life, but the available evidence does not establish which one has been copied most often.
