There is no reliable, universal ranking of the most expensive concert tickets ever: the available records mix VIP package prices, charity-auction purchases, and resale or dynamic-pricing offers. The examples below are ranked by the stated amount, but each is labeled by what the figure actually represents. The clearest single-ticket face-value example is Bon Jovi’s $1,875 VIP package in 2010; the largest documented transaction here is £83,000 for two Led Zeppelin reunion-show tickets bought at a charity auction.
Documented high-price concert ticket examples, ranked by amount
These cases are not directly comparable. A pair bought at a charity auction is not the same thing as one standard seat, and a resale listing does not prove a completed sale. Amounts are nominal, not adjusted for inflation.

Led Zeppelin: £83,000 for a pair at a charity auction (2007)
At a Children in Need auction, BBC Radio 2 listener Kenneth Donnell bought two tickets to Led Zeppelin’s 10 December 2007 reunion show at London’s O2 Arena for £83,000. This is the largest documented amount in these examples, but it was a charity-auction price for a pair—not a per-ticket box-office price. Guinness World Records records the purchase.

Taylor Swift: resale listings as high as $20,000 per ticket (2022)
Within 24 hours of the Eras Tour presale, tickets reportedly appeared on resale sites for as much as $20,000 each. The U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations’ 2026 report describes these as resale listings, not verified completed sales; it also says Eras Tour tickets were not dynamically priced in the primary sale. Read the committee’s report and materials.

Bon Jovi: $1,875 per ticket for a Diamond VIP package (2010)
Guinness World Records lists the Circle Tour Diamond VIP Experience at $1,875 per ticket in the United States. The package included reserved front-row seating, VIP check-in, pre-show hospitality with an open bar and buffet, an on-site host, an autographed tour programme, a $150 store voucher, a souvenir ticket, a leather bag, and a collectible concert chair. This is a documented premium-package price, not proof of the highest amount ever paid for any concert ticket. Guinness says its currency conversion was correct as of 31 December 2010. Guinness World Records’ entry describes the package.

Bruce Springsteen: offers above $4,000 during 2022 U.S. tour sales
During the 2022 U.S. tour sale, fans encountered Ticketmaster Platinum offers above $4,000, according to the Senate committee’s 2026 report. Its example is a $3,819 seat plus $569.50 in fees. Ticketmaster said Platinum tickets accounted for 11.2% of tickets sold, as recounted in the report. These are offered prices described in a report, not evidence that a buyer completed a purchase at the listed amount. The committee’s report and materials provide the context.

Led Zeppelin: reported eBay resale prices up to £1,800 per ticket (2007)
Guinness reported that tickets for the same London reunion show were being offered on eBay for up to £1,800 each, compared with an original price of £125 per ticket. The figure is reported resale pricing; the source does not establish a completed £1,800 sale. Demand was exceptional: Guinness says more than 20 million ticket requests were made for the show, while 9,000 pairs were released to the public. Guinness World Records’ entry gives the reported prices and demand figures.

The Eagles: US$425 (£245) in Melbourne (2005)
A Guardian-hosted infographic published in 2006 identified an Eagles ticket in Melbourne as the world’s most expensive concert ticket in 2005, at US$425 (£245). It is a contemporary snapshot of that year, not a current all-time record. The Guardian’s infographic provides the historical benchmark.

Why these figures do not make a definitive all-time ranking
The figures measure different things: a VIP package’s stated price, a completed two-ticket charity auction, resale offers, and a reported contemporary high. Only the auction example establishes a buyer and a completed transaction among the especially large amounts above; the headline resale figures are listings or offers. Guinness also cautions that records can change and may not be published online immediately, and its entries are not a comprehensive ledger of every ticket transaction. The Senate report provides recent U.S. examples, not a global transaction database.
- Price basis: an included hospitality package, a charity bid, a primary-market Platinum offer, or a resale listing can produce very different numbers.
- Unit: the £83,000 Led Zeppelin auction amount covered two tickets; several other figures are per ticket.
- Evidence: a listed or offered price is not necessarily the price a buyer paid.
- Time and currency: the examples span 2005–2022 and use different currencies. They are not inflation-adjusted.
Tour gross is not an individual ticket record
The Eras Tour grossed $2,077,618,725 across 149 shows from 17 March 2023 to 8 December 2024, sold 10,168,008 tickets, and averaged $204.33 per ticket, according to Guinness World Records citing Billboard Boxscore. Those totals describe the tour as a whole; the average does not establish the highest price for an individual ticket. Guinness World Records’ Eras Tour record reports the figures.
