Before the event, the clearest reason to expect a specific reveal was Jujutsu Kaisen’s promised update on Season 3; Chainsaw Man and One Piece were prominent because they had main-stage slots, not because a particular announcement had been confirmed in advance. The clearest post-event payoff was an announcement that the Chainsaw Man anime’s Assassins Arc would be produced.
What was Jump Festa 2026?
Jump Festa 2026 was a two-day event jointly hosted by Weekly Shonen Jump, Shonen Jump+, V Jump, Jump SQ, and Saikyo Jump. It was held at Makuhari Messe on December 20–21, 2025. Its official program included three stages streamed globally, though the programming was in Japanese and access could be restricted in some regions. MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA’s event page described the streams this way: “The three Jump Festa stages will be live-streamed globally so that you can watch from the comfort of your home!”
Which announcements were most anticipated?
The schedule put several major franchises in front of the event’s audience. Jujutsu Kaisen appeared on Saturday; Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Chainsaw Man, and One Piece were scheduled for Sunday. Those slots made the stages worth watching, but a place on the program alone did not promise a major reveal.
| Series | Pre-event signal | What can be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Jujutsu Kaisen | The official preview explicitly promised new information about Season 3, Culling Game Part 1. | The stage preview establishes the expected subject of an update; the sources cited here do not specify its full content. |
| Chainsaw Man | A Sunday main-stage slot signaled prominence, but the schedule did not promise a particular reveal. | Production of the anime’s Assassins Arc was announced on December 21, 2025. |
| One Piece | A Sunday main-stage slot signaled prominence, but the schedule did not promise a particular reveal. | The sources cited here do not establish a specific announcement from the stage. |
| Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba | A Sunday main-stage slot signaled prominence, but the schedule did not promise a particular reveal. | The sources cited here do not establish a specific announcement from the stage. |
The distinction matters: a scheduled appearance is evidence that a franchise received attention, not evidence of what its cast or producers would announce. The official program supports the lineup; only a specific preview supports a specific expectation. The MANGA Plus schedule lists the stages, while the official Jujutsu Kaisen Jump Festa page gives a concrete preview.

What Jujutsu Kaisen news was expected?
Jujutsu Kaisen had the strongest advance signal in the available official information. Its Jump Festa page said the stage would feature new information about the already announced third season, titled “死滅回游 前編” (Culling Game Part 1), which was scheduled to begin broadcasting in January 2026. The stage was set for December 20, 13:00–13:30, and listed voice cast Junya Enoki, Yuma Uchida, Daisuke Namikawa, and Megumi Ogata.
That wording made a Season 3 update a reasonable expectation before the event. It should not be inflated into a claim that a new season, release date, or other specific detail was being announced: the preview says “new information,” not what that information would be.

What was announced at Jump Festa 2026?
Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc anime production
On December 21, 2025, the official Chainsaw Man news page announced that production of the anime “刺客篇” (Assassins Arc) had been decided. Crunchyroll’s post-event roundup also identifies the Assassins Arc anime announcement among the event’s key news. It is a clear example of a major announcement attached to a highly watched franchise, but it does not establish that every headlining stage produced a comparable reveal.
Other title updates
Netflix’s event retrospective describes updates across anime and live-action titles. That supports the broader point that the event included platform-related title news; title-specific claims should be tied to their own announcements rather than inferred from the roundup’s general description.

How to read the anticipation versus the results
The strongest pre-event expectation was the one backed by explicit wording: Jujutsu Kaisen’s official stage preview said to expect Season 3 information. Chainsaw Man and One Piece were plausible subjects of fan interest because of their schedule prominence, but the schedule did not substantiate a promised reveal. After the event, Chainsaw Man’s Assassins Arc production announcement is the confirmed result most clearly documented here. This is a selective account, not a complete ledger of every stage announcement.
