Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu opened in theaters on May 22, 2026. Advance tickets were announced on sale April 16, 2026, so both the ticket-sale window and theatrical release are now in the past. StarWars.com and Disney now list home-viewing options.
When did tickets for The Mandalorian and Grogu go on sale?
StarWars.com announced on April 16, 2026, that advance tickets were on sale through Fandango or other ticket sellers. That is the date of the official announcement; it does not establish the exact first moment tickets became available at every theater or in every territory. StarWars.com’s April 16 announcement accompanied the film’s final trailer.
When was the movie released?
The official general theatrical release date was May 22, 2026, according to StarWars.com and Disney Movies. Fandango’s ordinary film listing also gives May 22. A separate Fandango Super Ticket listing shows May 21, but that listing-specific date is not the general release date.
Can you still buy theater tickets?
The release has passed, so the old ticket announcement is not evidence of current showtimes or ticket availability. Check a local theater or ticket seller directly if you are looking for a special screening; availability will depend on the venue and territory.
