The Killer: John Woo’s Reimagining of His Classic Is on Peacock

John Woo’s The Killer is a 2024 reimagining of his 1989 Hong Kong film, led by Nathalie Emmanuel as an assassin in Paris. Peacock announced its exclusive premiere for August 23, 2024, and lists the film on its platform; availability can vary by location, so check Peacock’s current listing in your region.

Is the 2024 film a remake of John Woo’s original?

Yes. The 2024 The Killer revisits Woo’s 1989 Hong Kong film of the same name. Universal describes the new film as a reimagining. Its official synopsis centers on Zee, a woman assassin in Paris, rather than claiming a scene-by-scene recreation of the earlier story. Universal Pictures At Home’s film page provides the studio’s description.
