Is The Incredibles 3 officially confirmed?
Yes. Pixar announced the third film at D23 on August 9, 2024. Disney’s announcement described Bird as developing the project at that time, and its current film listing confirms the project and credits. Disney’s 2024 D23 announcement and Disney’s 2026 D23 report document the announcement and the later credits.
What does Brad Bird’s return mean?
Bird is credited as a producer, not as director, on the current official listings. The distinction matters because the 2024 announcement said he was developing the film; that announcement-stage description is not the same as a current directing credit. Pixar lists the film’s credits, as does Disney Movies.
Who is directing, and when does it release?
Peter Sohn is the credited director, with Dana Murray and Brad Bird listed as producers. Disney gives the release date as June 16, 2028, exclusively in theaters. The date and credits are also listed in Disney’s 2026 D23 report.

What has not been announced?
The official pages cited here do not provide plot details, a returning voice cast, a trailer date, or a streaming date. Disney confirms a theatrical release, but no streaming availability or timing is stated.

At the 2024 announcement, Disney said the first two Incredibles films had earned nearly $2 billion combined. That was Disney’s rounded franchise figure reported in 2024, not a current box-office total.
