When will The Inbetweeners 3 be released?

#1 Best Overall
- Simon Bird as Will McKenzie
- James Buckley as Jay Cartwright

- Joe Thomas as Simon Cooper
The announcement does not name any additional cast members, so further casting details remain unconfirmed.

What is the plot of The Inbetweeners 3?
Netflix has not released a synopsis or confirmed the film’s setting, story or central predicament. Claims about the characters’ adult lives, or any supposed leaks and fan theories, should not be treated as confirmed plot details until an official synopsis appears.
What happened before this announcement?
In October 2025, Banijay UK and Fudge Park announced a partnership that opened a path to bringing The Inbetweeners back across film, television and stage. That announcement described broad possibilities; it did not confirm a production schedule, a new series or a release date. Netflix’s 2026 announcement is the specific confirmation that a feature film is in production. Banijay UK’s partnership announcement.

How does the new film fit the franchise?
Netflix describes the original sitcom as following Will, Simon, Neil and Jay at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive. The series aired on Channel 4 from 2008 to 2010 for three series, followed by films released in 2011 and 2014. The new project is the third feature film, rather than a confirmed fourth television series.
Creators Beesley and Morris described returning to the project as “It’s been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we’re going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans.”
