The creepy Pinocchio animatronic is from Pinocchio: Unstrung, a slasher-horror reimagining of the classic tale. Entertainment coverage identifies effects artist Todd Masters as the maker of the practical puppet, which gives the film’s central character a physical, tactile presence rather than making him solely a digital effect.
What is the Pinocchio animatronic from?
It was created for Pinocchio: Unstrung, written and directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield and produced with Scott Jeffrey under Jagged Edge Productions. The film is part of the Twisted Childhood Universe, also marketed as the Poohniverse. Production and cast coverage identifies MastersFX with the creature design and attributes the practical animatronic to Todd Masters.
The first-look image appeared in November 2024, followed by trailer coverage describing Pinocchio as a practical animatronic puppet. That reveal established the puppet as a notable creature-effects element; it does not establish that the production prop is offered for sale. Coverage of the animatronic and the initial reveal reported the image and its context.
What is different about this Pinocchio?
This is not a family-oriented adaptation. The story follows James, Geppetto’s grandson, and the handmade puppet Geppetto gives him. Influenced by a sinister Cricket, Pinocchio pursues becoming a real boy through violence, in a film described as slasher horror with darkly comic elements. The film’s story and franchise coverage provides this premise.
