Kung Fu Panda 2 is the highest-grossing movie with a credited Jackie Chan acting role in FilmDB’s tracked list, at a reported $665.7 million worldwide. This ranking counts voice acting as well as live-action roles, uses FilmDB’s nominal worldwide grosses consistently, and reflects figures checked on October 8, 2026.
What is Jackie Chan’s highest-grossing movie?
Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011) leads the list. Chan voices Monkey in the animated film; counting that performance puts it ahead of his live-action titles. FilmDB reports its worldwide gross as $665.7 million, while Box Office Mojo’s title page reports $665,692,281. These are nominal reported grosses, not an inflation-adjusted total or a count of tickets sold.

How the ranking changes when you narrow the question
Live-action roles only
Exclude the Kung Fu Panda voice performances and The Karate Kid (2010) becomes the leading live-action title in the list, at FilmDB’s $359.1 million. Box Office Mojo reports $359,126,022 worldwide and identifies Chan as Mr. Han on its title page. Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3 follow, then Kung Fu Yoga and Rush Hour.
Domestic gross, adjusted dollars, or ticket sales
This is a worldwide, nominal-dollar ranking. A domestic-only chart answers a different question, while inflation-adjusted totals or admissions would measure different things. The available sources do not establish a definitive Jackie Chan ranking by inflation-adjusted gross or by tickets sold, so the order here should not be used as a substitute for either.
Acting credits rather than directing or producing
A film belongs here because Chan has an acting credit, whether on screen or as a voice performer. Directing or producing a movie without an acting credit does not qualify it for this list.
How to interpret the reported totals
FilmDB supplies the complete ranking and role categories. Box Office Mojo’s worldwide chart and selected title pages independently corroborate several leading entries, including Kung Fu Panda 2, The Karate Kid, and Rush Hour 3. For example, Box Office Mojo reports $258,097,122 worldwide for Rush Hour 3, which FilmDB rounds to $258.1 million. See Box Office Mojo’s title page and its worldwide lifetime-gross chart.
Rank #3
Totals can differ between databases because their coverage and reported figures may vary. Keeping one database as the basis for the full ranking avoids mixing unlike totals; the other source serves as a cross-check, not a replacement for selected FilmDB entries. The ranking is a snapshot of reported worldwide grosses checked October 8, 2026, rather than a claim that every figure is an audited final count.

Worldwide dollar totals for modern releases should not be directly compared with historical local-currency records. The Hong Kong Film Archive says The Young Master (1980) earned over HK$10 million and broke local box-office records; it also says Police Story (1985) exceeded HK$20 million at the box office. Those figures describe Hong Kong historical grosses, not comparable worldwide-dollar totals. The Archive’s Jackie Chan biography places his rise in the context of kung-fu comedies and his later American films, including the Rush Hour series.
