The Greatest Showman has a stage adaptation planned for London, not a confirmed Broadway production. Hugh Jackman has not been announced for the stage cast: Oliver Tompsett is playing P.T. Barnum in the currently listed London company.
Is The Greatest Showman coming to Broadway?
Not according to the currently announced plans. The official production website lists a London engagement at Theatre Royal Drury Lane for spring 2027 and says London is the only announced venue. No Broadway theatre, dates or Broadway cast have been confirmed in the official information available as of 8 October 2026. The official production site

The adaptation was announced as in development by Disney Theatrical Group on 9 August 2024. Disney announced a world premiere at Bristol Hippodrome in spring 2026 on 5 March 2025, then named the Bristol cast and its performance period as 15 March to 10 May 2026 on 15 October 2025. The subsequently announced London engagement is a separate production plan; it does not establish a Broadway transfer.
Will Hugh Jackman appear in the stage adaptation?
Jackman has not been announced for the stage adaptation. He played P.T. Barnum in the 20th Century Studios film, but the announced stage cast names Oliver Tompsett as Barnum. The official Bristol announcement and the current London cast listing do not list Jackman. That is a statement about announced casting—not evidence that he has accepted, declined or ruled out a future role.

Who is in the announced London cast?
The official London cast listing names Oliver Tompsett as P.T. Barnum and Samantha Barks as Charity Barnum. The production site says more casting will be announced, so the list is not yet complete. Tompsett and Barks were also announced for the Bristol world premiere.
What is known about the London performances?
The official site gives the venue as Theatre Royal Drury Lane and the season as spring 2027. As of 8 October 2026, it says ticket information is expected later in autumn and that a full performance schedule will be released soon. It does not provide a specific London opening date, performance calendar or ticket on-sale date. Check the official production website for updates rather than relying on an unconfirmed date.

What will the stage adaptation include?
The musical is based on the film. It includes songs from the movie as well as new songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Tim Federle is writing the book, and Casey Nicholaw is directing and choreographing. These are the announced creative credits; the production’s full casting is still to come.
In its 5 March 2025 announcement, Disney Theatrical Group said the film soundtrack had spent 11 consecutive weeks at number one in the UK and described it as “only the second album in 30 years” to achieve that run. This is a UK chart-placement claim attributed to Disney, not a soundtrack sales figure.
