WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble was a one-off event held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on April 27, 2018. Its unusual scale came from a first-ever 50-person Royal Rumble match, a card with seven championship bouts and marquee singles matches, and the setting: it was presented in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s General Sports Authority as the first event in a long-term partnership announced by WWE.
What made the event unusual?
Three features set the Greatest Royal Rumble apart: the size of its signature match, the location and partnership behind the event, and the breadth of its card. WWE called the match the first-ever 50-person Royal Rumble. Braun Strowman won after entering at number 41 and eliminating 49 other competitors, according to WWE’s event results recap. The word “Greatest” was WWE’s promotional name, not an independent ranking of the event.

Why was it held in Saudi Arabia?
WWE announced on March 5, 2018, that the event would take place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, in partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority. WWE described it as the first event under a long-term partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. That announcement establishes the event’s partnership context; it does not, by itself, explain the broader political or social background of the arrangement. WWE’s announcement
On April 23, WWE said the event was sold out. That is WWE’s reported status, not an independently verified attendance count; the cited event announcements do not give a numerical attendance figure. WWE’s sold-out announcement

What was on the card besides the 50-person match?
The event was more than an oversized battle royal. WWE’s results coverage describes seven championship matches and highlights two marquee singles bouts: John Cena defeated Triple H, and The Undertaker defeated Rusev in a casket match. The scale of the card helped make the event feel like a special, densely packed show rather than a regular edition of a familiar pay-per-view format. WWE’s event results
Why is the Lesnar–Reigns finish remembered?
Brock Lesnar defended the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns in a steel-cage match. WWE’s event recap singled out the ending as controversial. The useful, source-grounded point is that WWE itself framed the finish that way; without a separately documented ruling, it is better not to state a more specific interpretation of the disputed outcome. How could viewers watch it at the time?
WWE announced on April 23, 2018, that the event would air live in the Middle East on Abu Dhabi Sports 1 in Arabic and Abu Dhabi Sports 6 in English. That is historical broadcast information, not confirmation of where the event is available to stream now. The announcement does not establish current streaming rights or regional catalog access.
