The advertised The Goonies 40th-anniversary screenings took place January 19–20, 2025, and are over. Fathom now marks the event as past, so tickets for those showings are no longer a current option. To see whether another screening is scheduled near you, check Fathom’s current listings and search by ZIP code.
Is The Goonies still showing for its 40th anniversary?
No. Fathom Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery promoted the anniversary event for Sunday, January 19, and Monday, January 20, 2025. Fathom’s event page now labels it “This is a Past Event.” Fathom’s event listing gives the runtime as 1 hour 56 minutes and describes an exclusive introduction or insights from film historian and critic Leonard Maltin.

Fathom’s later 2025 Big Screen Classics announcement also identifies The Goonies as the series’ first film, brought back to theaters in January. Its May 2, 2025 ticket-sale date applied to the 2025 series generally; it was not the on-sale date for this specific Goonies event.
How to check for another screening near you
- Go to Fathom Entertainment’s current listings and look for active or forthcoming events.
- If you find an event page, enter a nearby ZIP code and select a theater to see what is scheduled at that location. Fathom’s location-search instructions describe this process.
- Check the event or theater listing for its date, local showtime, participating venue, and ticket availability before making plans.
These steps can show other scheduled Fathom events, but the available listings do not establish a future Goonies date. A Fandango listing records the historical event and its January 19, 2025 date; it does not indicate current ticket inventory.

What the original event included
The US event was scheduled at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time on both January 19 and January 20, 2025. Fathom directed customers to its website or participating theater box offices, and warned that locations could change. The event included an exclusive introduction by Leonard Maltin. Those details describe the past event, not a current showtime or ticket offer. Fathom’s original announcement has the event details.
