Fifteen men reunited with Joan and one another to talk about their journeys, relationships, grief and personal growth. ABC’s preview had promised a focus on “lasting friendships,” and that became the reunion’s defining thread alongside updates about the men’s experiences with Joan. What did Mark write in the note to Jonathan?
Mark’s note to Jonathan became the reunion’s most personal moment. Jonathan read it aloud, and Mark explained that he had written it because he thought Jonathan needed the encouragement. “It seemed at the moment, it was something you needed,” Mark told him. “I hope that it helped you. It was from the heart.” ABC News’ recap reported that the exchange resonated with the men as they discussed support and the bonds they had built.

Grief was part of that conversation. Mark spoke about the loss of his spouse, while Jonathan described feeling listened to by Joan when he shared his own story. He said she cared about his heart. Their reflections gave the episode’s affectionate tone a more specific meaning: the men valued being understood, not only being part of a dating show.
What did Pascal say to Joan?
Pascal returned to discuss why he left the season in Tahiti. He told Joan he hoped his decision had not hurt her, and she said she held no hard feelings. Pascal said he had not intended to hurt her and praised her as someone worthy of love, while acknowledging that he could not offer what she was looking for at the time. ABC News’ account quotes his explanation: “I think she is worthy of love, I just wasn’t able to give her what she was looking for at the time.”

Why did the men get along so well?
The reunion treated the men’s friendships as a story in their own right. Gary Levingston summed up the group’s closeness: “The bromance here was just absolutely unbelievable,” he said. “It really was.” Joan told the men that seeing them made her heart happy and that she wanted friendship with all of them, too. ABC News covered both comments.
That warmth was balanced by deliberately lighter group moments. ABC7’s recap describes a debate over barbecue sauce on burgers, footage of the men together at the mansion, bloopers, and a performance of “Mansion Men” by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles. The mix of teasing, shared memories and sincere support made the reunion feel more like a gathering among friends than a lineup of grievances.

What was the charity connection?
ABC7 reported that the episode connected the men’s charity effort with Stand Up To Cancer. According to the recap, host Jesse Palmer announced that ABC would match what the men raised that night. The recap did not establish a donation total, so no amount can be reliably attached to the announcement.
