The headline refers to The Furious, a 2026 martial-arts action and revenge thriller. Lionsgate lists an official trailer for the film. Its story follows Wang Wei, whose daughter is abducted, and Navin, a journalist whose wife has disappeared, as they pursue the criminal network behind their families’ disappearances. The phrase “most violent” is promotional framing, not a verified ranking of 2026 films.
What is The Furious about?
In Lionsgate Limited’s synopsis, Wang Wei (Xie Miao) gets no help from corrupt police after a criminal network kidnaps his daughter. He sets out to find her, joined by Navin (Joe Taslim), a journalist whose wife has mysteriously disappeared. The two men’s search brings them into conflict with the network responsible.

When is The Furious coming out?
A Deadline report on Lionsgate’s acquisition said the company planned a 2026 theatrical release. That was a plan reported at the time, not confirmation of a current theatrical date. The report also said Lionsgate’s rights excluded mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. See Deadline’s acquisition report for that distribution context.
STARZ has a U.S. page for The Furious that describes it as a 2026 action/crime title and lists a runtime of 1 hour 53 minutes. The page’s “Coming Saturday” label is time-sensitive and does not by itself establish a current streaming date; check the page for its latest status.

Does the trailer prove it is 2026’s most violent thriller?
No. “Most violent” is the hook used in Collider’s March 24, 2026 article, not a substantiated comparison or award. The available official description and edition listing identify a revenge-driven action film and rate the disc release R for strong bloody violence and language; they do not establish that it is more violent than every other thriller released in 2026. Collider’s article is the source of the headline wording.
