Spoilers for all eight episodes of Netflix’s 2024 limited series The Frog. Yoo Seong-a is shot and killed after escaping police custody and returning to Jeon Yeong-ha’s pension house. Yeong-ha is also shot in the final confrontation, but survives and later returns to the property. The detailed events come from a published finale recap; Netflix’s official synopsis confirms the confrontation’s setup, not Seong-a’s ultimate fate.
What happens to Seong-a in The Frog’s finale?
In the finale account published by Bollywood Hungama, lawyers intervene and Seong-a is released by police. She goes to a laundromat and sets it on fire, then returns to the pension house to collect her belongings and flee the country.

Ha Si-hyeon’s father is waiting at the pension house with a rifle. He shoots Yeong-ha during the confrontation, giving Seong-a an opportunity to escape. The recap says the father catches up with Seong-a and shoots her dead.
Does Yeong-ha survive?
Yes. The same recap reports that Yeong-ha survives the gunshot. After a time jump, he returns to the pension house with his daughter and her fiancé and resumes life there. The recap describes the rental as bearing scars from what happened; that is its interpretation of the property’s condition, rather than a separately confirmed detail.

What does the ending mean?
The ending resolves Seong-a’s immediate threat but leaves the consequences of the violence with Yeong-ha and the place where it happened. That reading fits the series’ broader premise, but it is an interpretation of the finale rather than an explanation of its events supplied by the creators.
Writer Son Ho-young told Netflix Tudum that he wanted to tell a story about ordinary people facing worst-case scenarios and trying to protect their everyday lives. He also described the characters as “like trees falling by themselves in the woods.” Those comments concern the series’ premise; they do not specifically explain Seong-a’s death.

Director Mo Wan-il described the series as being about a particular incident and the emotions people remember from it. This offers a general thematic lens, not a confirmed explanation of the finale’s mechanics.

Netflix’s episode listing describes the finale’s setup: detective Yoon Bo-min seeks evidence of Seong-a’s misdeeds while Yeong-ha resolves to stop her himself. It does not state how Seong-a ultimately dies. The specific sequence and outcomes above are reported in the Bollywood Hungama recap, rather than in Netflix’s official synopsis.
