It is a season-one snapshot, not a verified account of the people’s current legal status: Netflix now lists two seasons, and the later episodes cover different cases.
What the 2024 update covers
TV Insider’s retrospective covers the first four episodes of season one: “Dating the Devil,” “Betrayed By the Badge,” “Killing for Custody” and “Married to a Monster.” Its reported outcomes range from a death before arrest to prison sentences and life imprisonment. The article below attributes those outcomes to TV Insider; current custody, parole and court records were not independently checked.
Netflix’s official series page lists two seasons and displays four season-two episode summaries. Netflix’s Media Center also describes the series as returning for a second season. The cases below are the season-one cases covered by the 2024 update, not a complete update on everyone featured in the series.
“Dating the Devil”: Benjamin Foster and Justine Siemens
TV Insider’s 2024 account says Benjamin Foster had previously been violent toward an ex-girlfriend, Amber, and later attacked his girlfriend, Justine Siemens. After the 2023 assault on Siemens, Foster went on the run, held two people hostage and killed them, according to the report. He later returned to Grants Pass, Oregon.
