The Who Shop describes a collection of more than 120 props, costumes and artefacts from Doctor Who and related programmes, including Torchwood, The Sarah Jane Adventures and K9. The shop’s undated museum page says the items date back to 1964; that is the shop’s description, not a separately dated inventory.

Examples named by the museum include the console from the 1989 stage play The Ultimate Adventure, an original Time Lord costume, material from “Marco Polo,” the Hand of Fear, and the gas mask from “The Empty Child.” Later-series pieces include Tony Curran’s Vincent van Gogh costume from “Vincent and the Doctor,” Matt Smith’s Soothsayer costume from “The Wedding of River Song,” and Rory’s Roman costume from “The Pandorica Opens” and “The Big Bang.” The museum also mentions original scripts, floor plans, production documents and a photo wall. Visitor rules and how much time to allow
- Plan for a brief visit: the museum sets a 25-minute limit within each 30-minute booking slot.
- Leave bags behind: bags and backpacks must be left with staff behind the counter.
- Do not photograph the exhibits: photography is prohibited inside because of spoilers. The stated exception is a photo as you enter the TARDIS prop.
These rules are listed on The Who Shop’s museum page. If you have questions about a particular access need or item you plan to bring, ask the shop when booking.
What else can you buy at the shop?
The physical shop is also a Doctor Who merchandise retailer. Its official catalog lists toys, figures and collectibles; books, comics, graphic novels and magazines; DVDs and Blu-rays; audio; and signed autographs. Visit London additionally lists clothing and homeware. The catalog describes product categories, not guaranteed in-store stock, so check with the shop if you are visiting for a particular item.
