The Conjuring is James Wan’s 2013 horror film about paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren helping a family in a secluded farmhouse. Its “horrifying true story” framing is part of the film’s promotion, not independent proof that supernatural events occurred.
What is The Conjuring about?
Released in 2013, The Conjuring follows investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren as they try to help the Perron family, who are terrorized in an isolated farmhouse. The film blends a family-in-danger story with supernatural horror.

Is The Conjuring based on a true story?
The film is presented with “horrifying true story” language, but that promotional framing should not be mistaken for independent verification of paranormal events. The story concerns the Warrens and the Perron family; the supernatural elements depicted on screen are not established as proven facts by the film’s platform listing.

Where can you watch or buy The Conjuring?
Availability depends on your country and can change. In the United States, Hulu’s listing says HBO content is available through Hulu with an added HBO Max subscription, and notes that programming is subject to change. Check the current listing and subscription requirements in your territory before signing up: Hulu’s The Conjuring page.
Google Play and Prime Video also have surfaced listings, but current prices, whether access is by rental, purchase or subscription, and regional availability are not established here. Check each storefront’s current offer rather than assuming a listing means the film is included with a subscription.
