The Coffee Club announced that Sizzler’s original Cheese Toast would return to its Australian cafes from 24 July 2024, for a limited time and while stocks lasted. PerthNow reported the offer at $4.99 for two pieces. The available sources do not confirm that it is still on sale.
What The Coffee Club announced
The Coffee Club described the promotion as an exclusive partnership with Sizzler. CEO Scott Meneilly told PerthNow: “We’ve gone to great lengths to bring the original Sizzler Cheese Toast to The Coffee Club.” He also called it “an Aussie favourite for decades” and “a comeback not to be missed.”
The offer was announced on 23 July 2024 and began the following day. It was promoted as a limited-time item, available while stocks lasted; that wording does not establish a fixed end date.
Price and availability
PerthNow reported the price as $4.99 for two pieces — PerthNow, 2024. The Coffee Club’s social announcement invited customers to get a slice before stock ran out. Neither the announcement nor the reporting establishes how long individual cafes had stock.

What “original” means here
The partnership and Meneilly’s description identify the item as Sizzler’s original Cheese Toast, but the sources do not disclose its recipe. Frugal Feeds described it as thick-cut bread grilled with margarine and cheese; that is a secondary description, not an official ingredient list or verified recreation.

Why the comeback drew attention
The 2024 promotion arrived amid nostalgia for Sizzler, whose remaining Australian restaurants had closed. Collins Foods said the nine restaurants still operating in Australia would permanently close by 15 November 2020. The Coffee Club offer brought the named menu item to Coffee Club outlets, but was a separate, temporary promotion—not evidence that Sizzler restaurants had reopened.
