Who is on The Challenge Season 40 cast?
MTV announced 40 competitors drawn from the show’s 26-year history. Its four eras are based on The Challenge seasons, not contestants’ first appearances on other programs. Here is the full cast as assigned by MTV in its June 2024 announcement.

What eras are CT and Johnny Bananas in?
CT Tamburello is assigned to Era 1, which covers seasons 1–10. MTV’s 2024 roster listed him as having competed in 19 Challenges and recorded five wins.
Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio is in Era 2, covering seasons 11–20. MTV listed 23 Challenges and seven wins for him, the highest win count among the announced cast. These are figures from the network’s June 2024 announcement, not a live record of either competitor’s career.

How does Battle of the Eras work?
MTV said competitors would first face an “Era Invitational,” with weaker links eliminated from within their own era before contestants earned a team spot. The announcement also promised new challenges and twists, but did not publish a complete ruleset. It described the prize as a share of $1 million; that announcement does not establish the final payout or how the prize is allocated.
When did The Challenge 40 premiere?
MTV announced a premiere for Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. This is the date and time given in the network’s announcement, not a current schedule listing.

Where can you watch Season 40?
MTV’s June 2024 release named Paramount+, MTV VOD, and The Challenge channel on Pluto TV as places to stream previous seasons. That historical statement does not confirm that Season 40 is currently available on those services or in every region. Check the relevant service’s current catalog and regional availability.
MTV also announced a new season of the Official Challenge Podcast, with episodes after the premiere and recaps featuring veteran competitors. The release said it was produced by Paramount Audio and MTV Entertainment with iHeartRadio and available on major podcast platforms.
