The Campaign: Disinformation in a Time of War is a 93-minute documentary by Kari Hollend and Cristina Bishai about information warfare and disinformation surrounding the Israel–Gaza conflict. Its claim that coordinated online campaigns helped shape opinion and contributed to antisemitism is the film’s thesis—not a conclusion independently established by the sources cited here.

What is The Campaign about?

The documentary examines how digital platforms, algorithms, bot networks and fake accounts may be used to influence public perceptions of the Israel–Gaza conflict. Go2Films, the distributor, describes the film as an investigation into coordinated digital warfare and its effects on public opinion. Docaviv’s 2026 program also lists the film and its subject. Those listings establish how the film is presented; they do not independently verify that a particular campaign existed, how extensive it was, or what effect it had. The title’s phrase “demonized after Oct. 7” should therefore be read as a framing of the film’s argument, not as a settled finding. To assess an allegation about a specific account, post or coordinated operation, readers would need dated evidence—such as platform records, independent reporting or primary documentation—rather than a film synopsis alone.

Who made the film, and what does “didn’t happen overnight” mean?

Kari Hollend and Cristina Bishai are listed as the directors, and the film’s runtime is 93 minutes. Go2Films lists English and Hebrew audio with English subtitles. Go2Films’ film listing | Docaviv’s listing

In an interview with Just The News, Hollend described the campaign as a long-running strategy, saying: “It didn’t happen overnight. it has been a longstanding strategy for 40 years.” That is Hollend’s characterization of the history behind the film’s subject, not independent proof of a continuous 40-year campaign.

Hollend also described her intended emphasis this way: “It’s not a film about a side,” she said. “It’s about the harm of what digital warfare and misinformation is doing to your city.” This explains the director’s stated purpose; it does not establish the scale or consequences of the activity the film discusses. How is the documentary connected to The Hidden Hand?

The film is connected to Warren Kinsella’s book The Hidden Hand: The Information War and the Rise of Antisemitic Propaganda. Go2Films describes the documentary as made in tandem with the book, while Just The News says it was inspired by Kinsella’s work. The connection identifies a related source text; it does not independently validate the documentary’s claims. Go2Films’ film listing | Just The News interview

Just The News reported Los Angeles screenings from October 9–15, 2026; Laemmle’s listing showed showtimes when accessed on October 11, 2026. Those dates are time-specific, so check the theater’s current listing rather than assuming a screening is still available. Docaviv listing | Kinsella’s May 8 announcement | Laemmle listing
