Amazon calls out the moment as “An ice-skating Homelander?”—but its official material does not explain the image’s full story context. The red-band preview also warns viewers to expect strong language and some gore.
What the “Homelander on Ice” tease shows—and what it does not
Amazon’s Season 4 page spotlights the skating image with the line, “An ice-skating Homelander? Bring it on.” That makes it an unmistakable visual hook for the trailer, but not a confirmed plot reveal: the official sources do not say why Homelander is skating or what the image means in the story.

There is a related joke in the season’s episode guide. Episode 3, “We’ll Keep the Red Flag Flying Here,” includes fictional Vought promotional copy announcing “Vought on Ice” at VoughtCoin Arena. This is an in-universe gag in the episode description, not a real event or ticket offer. The wording makes the skating tease feel at home in the show’s satire, but it still does not establish the scene’s precise narrative significance.
What Season 4 is about
Amazon’s official setup places political power and personal collapse at the center of the season. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under Homelander’s influence, while Homelander consolidates his power. Butcher, meanwhile, has months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his position as the Boys’ leader, and faces a team fed up with his lies.

- The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under Homelander's muscly thumb as he consolidates his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca's son, and his job as The Boys' leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they must find a way to work together and save the world before it's too late.
The cast includes returning stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti. Antony Starr plays Homelander. Amazon names Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Susan Heyward, and Valorie Curry among the season’s additions.
When the trailer and episodes arrived
Prime Video’s verified channel published the official Season 4 trailer on May 3, 2024. Amazon’s U.S. editorial schedule says the season premiered on June 13 with three episodes, then continued weekly through the July 18 finale.
Rank #2
The Prime Video listing shows eight episodes, but its displayed date for episode 1 is June 12, 2024; episode 8 is dated July 18. That first-episode listing differs by one day from Amazon’s U.S. editorial schedule, and the sources do not explain the discrepancy. If the exact premiere date matters, it is best to preserve both dates and their sources rather than treat them as interchangeable.

Amazon identifies Prime Video as the series’ streaming home. Availability and access terms can vary by market, so check the local listing for current details. Amazon also describes The Boys as based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson; the comic is an optional way to explore the source material, not something viewers need to read to understand the trailer.
