The promotional trailer for episode 7 of The Boys season 4 was published on July 8, 2024, and it paired Christmas music with violent superhero footage. GamesRadar+ described the Seven celebrating “Christmas in July.” The label is a joke about tone: the holiday cue sits against images of bloodshed and fighting. Why the Christmas cue works
The show’s official account posted the trailer with a caption that GamesRadar+ reproduced: “This Thursday, it’s beginning to look a lot like #TheBoysChristmas.” That line is promotional copy from the account, not a statement from a named writer, director or performer.
The effect comes from the audio. A familiar seasonal song played over clips of brutal superhero action reads as deliberate comic contrast. The coverage establishes that contrast as the source of the joke. It does not establish any holiday storyline in episode 7, and it does not explain why the trailer used a Christmas cue in July.
