For a dated U.S. snapshot, JustWatch’s daily TV chart on October 8, 2026, ranked East of Eden, Lanterns and Ted Lasso first, second and third. Nielsen’s latest displayed weekly streaming chart, covering September 14–20, instead put Neagley, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story and Reacher at the top by minutes watched. “Biggest” depends on the measure: one chart tracks recent user activity, the other U.S. television viewing time.
What are the biggest shows streaming right now?
There is no single, universal cross-service ranking in the available U.S. data. The two useful current views below measure different behaviors and cover different periods, so they should not be combined into one definitive list.
Daily activity: JustWatch, October 8, 2026
The U.S. JustWatch TV chart, updated October 8, 2026 at 09:11, ranked titles using activity over a rolling period. Its first seven were:
- East of Eden — Netflix
- Lanterns — HBO Max
- Ted Lasso — Apple TV
- War
- Slow Horses — Apple TV
- American Horror Story — Hulu among the listed viewing options
- MobLand — Paramount+ services
JustWatch says its charts reflect activity over the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, including clicks on streaming offers, watchlist additions and marking a title as seen. It describes a base of more than 50 million movie and TV fans per month, with charts updated daily across 140 countries and 4,500 services. Those scale figures describe the platform, not the audience for any show; the chart is a discovery and activity signal, not a direct count of hours watched. View the JustWatch U.S. TV chart.

Weekly minutes watched: Nielsen, September 14–20, 2026
Nielsen’s latest displayed U.S. streaming chart ranks titles by total minutes viewed by persons 2+, using its U.S. National TV Panel and television viewing. The leading titles were:
| Rank | Show | Minutes viewed |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Neagley | 1,776 million |
| 2 | Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story | 1,481 million |
| 3 | Reacher | 1,420 million |
| 4 | The Big Bang Theory | 950 million |
| 5 | Lioness | 897 million |
| 6 | Ted Lasso | 767 million |
These are millions of minutes for that one reporting week, not unique viewers or all-device global usage. Nielsen notes that listed providers have program-level data in specified Nielsen systems, while viewing data also include streaming viewership to other platforms. The figures therefore answer a different question from a daily discovery chart. See Nielsen’s streaming charts.

Lanterns was No. 2 on JustWatch’s October 8 U.S. daily chart, listed on HBO Max. In Nielsen’s September 14–20 acquired-title chart, it recorded 534 million minutes under the HBO Max provider label. The Big Bang Theory led the cited Max-associated acquired-title entries with 950 million minutes; Young Sheldon appeared under HBO Max and Netflix with 444 million.
These Nielsen figures are for the specified week and television viewing measure. A chart provider label is an attribution, not a guarantee that a title is included at no extra cost in every plan or territory.

Why do the charts disagree?
- Different measures: JustWatch records activity such as offer clicks, watchlist additions and seen-status updates; Nielsen ranks total viewing minutes.
- Different time windows: JustWatch offers rolling 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day activity views; Nielsen’s cited figures cover September 14–20, 2026.
- Different viewing scope: Nielsen’s cited measure is U.S. television viewing among persons 2+, not usage across every device or country.
- Different availability labels: A service shown by a chart may be one of several viewing options. Availability, bundles and extra charges can vary by region and date.
For readers deciding what to watch, use the daily chart as a clue to what people are actively exploring and Nielsen’s weekly list as a view of television minutes accumulated. Neither measures every dimension of popularity.
How current is this list?
The JustWatch ranking is a snapshot updated October 8, 2026 and may move within a day. Nielsen’s latest displayed week here ends September 20, so it is not a real-time or current-week ranking. Release dates above come from an October 2026 schedule, not an audience measurement. Check the charts and your local service listings for the date and country where you plan to watch.
