The Buccaneers season 2 — Apple TV+, June 18
This period drama adds a different tone to the month’s returning seasons. It is a good counterpoint to the contemporary family stories and high-stakes thrillers elsewhere on the list.
The Gilded Age season 3 — HBO, June 22
Among June’s historical dramas, this was one of the most prominent returning titles. Boston.com singled it out alongside The Bear and Squid Game as a notable return in a summer schedule it described as more movie-heavy than television-heavy.

This Netflix arrival was highlighted by TVLine and included in TV Guide’s June calendar. It is a useful choice for viewers seeking a new series rather than another season of a familiar show.

June’s notable television arrivals were a compact group within a broader streaming month. Boston.com’s June 13, 2025 guide characterized summer schedules as leaning more toward blockbuster movies than buzzy new TV, while emphasizing Squid Game, The Bear, and The Gilded Age as major returns. That context helps explain why the strongest picks include returning seasons as well as new shows.
Not every series listed for June was a premiere or a one-day season drop. Prime Video’s schedule also included The Chosen: Last Supper season 5 beginning June 15, with eight episodes rolling out in three parts over three weeks; Head Over Heels beginning June 23 with weekly episodes; and The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy season 2 on June 29. These are useful examples of why “coming in June” can mean different release patterns.
How to choose what to watch
- For a returning story: Start with Ginny & Georgia, The Buccaneers, The Gilded Age, The Bear, or Squid Game.
- For a new show: Consider Stick, The Waterfront, We Were Liars, Ironheart, or Countdown.
- For a weekly watch: Countdown began with three episodes and then moved to weekly releases; Prime Video also listed weekly episodes for Head Over Heels.
- For genre variety: The selection spans comedy, period drama, mystery, action, superhero storytelling, and Korean drama.
The dates and platforms in the guides cited here are US-oriented schedule information; availability and release timing can differ by territory. For a specific country, confirm the title and date in that service’s local catalog. The underlying schedules are calendars, not comparable audience scores or a defensible ranking of quality.
