Best overall strategy: check benefits you already have, use verified student or bundle pricing, and rotate services instead of paying for every platform all year. Prices and offers below were checked against available U.S. information from August 16–18, 2026; promotional terms can change at checkout.
Quick comparison of the strongest current offers
| Service | Best current saving | Price signal | Main qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple TV+ | Apple Music Student access, or the Apple TV+/Peacock bundle | $12.99/month direct; seven-day trial. Apple says the bundle saves more than 30%. | Student verification or bundle-tier availability; confirm checkout terms. |
| Hulu | Student pricing or a Disney bundle | $1.99/month student price reported; verify live signup. | Student eligibility; Hulu + Live TV is a separate, much costlier product. |
| Disney+ | Disney+/Hulu/Max promotion | $107.94 for six months ($17.99/month), then $19.99/month on the displayed offer. | Promotional tier and renewal terms must match the checkout page. |
| Max | Disney+/Hulu/Max bundle or an existing provider benefit | Standalone price not stated here. | Compare the exact Max tier, streams, downloads and video quality. |
| Paramount+ | Verified student plan | 50% off any plan for the first 12 months. | Annual student verification required. |
| Peacock | Select for lowest bill; Premium for fuller catalog | Reported: $7.99, $10.99 and $16.99 monthly for Select, Premium and Premium Plus. | Verify current checkout; Select has a more limited library and Premium Plus can show ads during live programming. |
| Netflix | Wireless or membership inclusion | No universal public discount established. | Plan-specific carrier activation and household rules apply. |
| Prime Video | Use an existing Prime membership | Reported Prime price: $14.99/month or $139/year. | Prime Video includes ads and some titles cost extra. |
Use official pages for final terms: Apple TV+, Apple TV+/Peacock, Disney/Hulu/Max, Disney bundle help, Paramount+ student, Peacock, Hulu, Max, Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Apple TV+: best for Apple users and short prestige-TV subscriptions
Apple lists Apple TV+ at $12.99 per month after a seven-day free trial on its U.S. page. The trial automatically converts unless canceled before renewal, so set a reminder when starting it.
Lower-cost routes
- Apple Music Student Plan: Apple identifies Apple TV access as a student-plan benefit. Confirm that the checkout means the Apple TV+ streaming service, not merely the Apple TV app.
- Apple TV+/Peacock bundle: Apple advertises savings of more than 30%. The exact tiers and price are account- and offer-page specific.
- Apple One: If you already need Apple Music, iCloud+ or other included Apple services, compare Apple One’s combined cost with buying Apple TV+ alone at Apple’s Apple One page.
Apple TV+ access is different from the Apple TV app, which also sells or rents movies and shows separately. Household sharing and device limits follow the billing arrangement shown by Apple or the third party handling payment. The service’s U.S. lineup includes MLB Friday Night Baseball and 2026 Formula 1 and MLS availability, so sports viewers should check the specific event rights before subscribing.

Hulu: separate on-demand and Live TV decisions
On-demand Hulu
A reported $1.99-per-month student offer is limited to eligible students at Title IV colleges or universities and should be verified at Hulu’s current signup flow. Hulu’s ad-supported and ad-free libraries differ in advertising, downloads and simultaneous streams.
Disney bundles
Disney’s help center documents two-service and three-service combinations involving Disney+, Hulu and ESPN. A bundle can be billed through Disney rather than Hulu, which affects account management. Existing subscribers may need to cancel or change a direct subscription before activating bundle billing; do not maintain both unless the checkout explicitly says the accounts will be linked.
Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV is not a discounted version of on-demand Hulu. Secondary reporting lists $89.99 per month for an ad-supported configuration and $99.99 for an ad-free-library configuration; verify the current offer directly. Live channels, sports rights, regional availability and DVR terms make this a separate cord-cutting purchase.
Disney+: compare the bundle tier, not just the headline price
Disney’s displayed Disney+/Hulu/Max offer totals $107.94 for six months, equivalent to $17.99 per month, then shows renewal at $19.99 per month. Those figures apply to the configuration displayed on the offer page and can change with tier or eligibility.

When the bundle wins
It can be attractive for a household that will use all three services. Compare it with equivalent standalone tiers: ads versus no ads, 4K versus HD, simultaneous streams, downloads and the full Hulu catalog. Disney also documents Disney+/Hulu and Disney+/Hulu/ESPN combinations at its bundle help page.
Billing and cancellation
A Disney bundle is generally managed as one subscription, while Hulu + Live TV changes may require Hulu’s own account tools. Read whether the displayed promotion is for new, returning or existing subscribers before switching.
Max: a bundle may be better than a standalone tier
The Disney/Hulu/Max promotion establishes that Max can be included, but it does not establish every current standalone Max price. Check Max’s signup page for ad-supported, standard and premium tiers.
Choose by features rather than the word “premium”: 4K, downloads, simultaneous streams, sports or live channels can vary. Also check cable, internet, mobile and credit-card benefits before paying directly. Max billing may appear under a partner rather than under Max, which changes where cancellation occurs.

Paramount+: strongest verified student discount
Paramount+ advertises 50% off any plan for the first 12 months for verified students at its student-offer page. Annual verification is required, and the discount applies to the regular plan price rather than necessarily stacking with another promotion.
Pick the right tier
- Essential: lower cost, with advertising and fewer premium features.
- Premium: better for viewers who need the service’s broader live-content and download features.
Secondary reports list $8.99 monthly for Essential and $13.99 for Premium; treat both as reported prices and confirm before paying. CBS programming, Paramount films, Nickelodeon and selected sports can make a one- or two-month subscription more economical than a full year.
Peacock: Select is cheap, but content access matters
Reported monthly prices are $7.99 for Select, $10.99 for Premium and $16.99 for Premium Plus. Verify all three at Peacock checkout; annual pricing and promotions can alter the calculation.
What the tiers change
- Select: lowest bill but a more limited catalog; check that it includes the current-season shows or events you want.
- Premium: broader NBC, Bravo, Universal and sports access.
- Premium Plus: fewer on-demand ads, but live sports and live channels can still contain advertising.
Check Walmart+, Comcast/Xfinity, Apple TV+ bundles and other partner benefits before subscribing separately.

Netflix: look for a benefit, not a mystery coupon
No standard public introductory discount or free trial is established here. The practical savings route is a qualifying Verizon, T-Mobile, internet or other membership offer, subject to plan eligibility and activation rules. Check Netflix’s signup page for current direct plans.
Netflix household and account-sharing rules apply regardless of how you pay. Avoid “cheap Netflix accounts,” shared credentials and reseller listings: they can violate terms, disappear without notice or expose your payment and viewing information.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Prime Video: valuable when you already use Prime
Prime Video is included with Amazon Prime. Secondary reporting lists Prime at $14.99 monthly or $139 annually; verify the current figure at Amazon’s U.S. membership page.
This is a strong effective deal for a household that already values shipping and other Prime benefits. It is weak value if you want one show and would not otherwise buy Prime. Prime Video may show ads, while some titles require a rental, purchase or separate Prime Video Channel subscription.

Check benefits you may already be paying for
- Wireless plans: qualifying T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T and other plans may include Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV credits or discounted access. One reported example is T-Mobile access to Netflix and Hulu with ads plus a $3 monthly Apple TV discount; treat it as plan-specific, not universal.
- Internet providers: Xfinity and other providers may include or discount services, often requiring manual activation.
- Retail memberships: Walmart+ and similar memberships can carry streaming benefits.
- Apple and Amazon memberships: Apple One and Prime can cost less than duplicating individual services when you use their other benefits.
- Students, employers and credit cards: verify whether the benefit is a permanent inclusion, a temporary credit or a discounted add-on.
After activating a perk, confirm that the old direct subscription is canceled or converted. Otherwise, the provider credit and the direct charge can run at the same time.
How to calculate whether a promotion is genuinely cheaper
- Write down the promotional monthly price and number of months.
- Add the renewal price for the remaining months of your first year.
- Include taxes, annual prepayment and any ad-free or channel add-ons.
- Divide the total paid by the months you will actually use the service: effective monthly cost = total paid ÷ months of use.
- Compare identical tiers, including ads, video quality, downloads, streams and live sports.
A six-month promotion is not automatically cheaper than an annual plan, especially if you cancel after a short viewing window or do not use every bundled service.
When rotating services beats subscribing all year
One show or a limited release
Use a legitimate trial or one month, then cancel after confirming the cancellation date. Access usually continues through the paid period, but the account page—not a retailer’s promise—controls the exact end date.
Sports seasons
Compare the months containing the games or events with an annual plan. Verify live rights, blackouts and whether the cheapest tier excludes the event.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Family viewing
Disney+/Hulu combinations can provide broader family programming than one premium service, but only if the household uses the included catalogs and accepts the specified ad tiers.
Quick Recap
Deal and billing traps to avoid
- Do not treat a free trial as free unless you record its automatic-renewal date.
- Do not assume “ad-free” removes ads from live sports, live channels, trailers or promotional messages.
- Do not assume an existing subscriber is eligible for a new-customer bundle.
- Check whether Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku, a carrier or a cable company controls billing.
- Annual subscriptions may not provide prorated refunds after cancellation.
- A promotion can end when you change tiers, even if the account remains active.
- Avoid unofficial resellers, lifetime accounts, VPN-based regional pricing, unknown gift-card markets and coupon pages without a current official checkout.
Which deal fits your household?
- Eligible student: check Paramount+’s 50%-off offer and Hulu’s reported student price before paying standard rates.
- Already paying for Apple services: compare Apple One and Apple Music Student access with standalone Apple TV+.
- Want several family catalogs: price the Disney+/Hulu/Max offer against equivalent standalone tiers.
- Need one series: subscribe for the shortest legitimate period and cancel immediately after starting.
- Sports-first household: select the tier that actually carries the live event; the cheapest headline plan may not.
- Lowest monthly bill: use existing memberships, accept ads where appropriate and rotate services around release schedules.
