Grant denied saying it, and Rose later said she thought she had misheard him and apologized. The disagreement dominated the prom-themed cocktail party, but Rose received a rose at the ceremony; Bailey Brown, Chloie Costello, and Alli Jo Hinkes were sent home.
What Rose told Carolina—and what Grant denied
Rose’s account was that Grant had told her he was thinking about Rose while dancing with Carolina. Carolina raised the claim with Grant at the prom-themed cocktail party. He denied making the remark, said the account did not make sense, and worked out that Rose was the source.
In Bustle’s recap, Grant’s response is quoted as: “If I was thinking about somebody else while I was dancing with you, I would have been dancing with them.” That is a line reported by the recap, not a verified episode transcript.
Rose acknowledged telling Carolina. She said she thought she had heard Grant say it and apologized for the misunderstanding. The available recaps do not independently establish what Grant said in the off-camera conversation, so the claim remains a disputed account—not proof that Rose deliberately lied.

Why the party was prom-themed
Grant said he had missed his high school prom while concentrating on basketball, which was the stated reason for the theme. The women dressed up and received corsages, and Grant’s guests included Gary Levingston, Jack Lencioni, Keith Gordon, and Jonathan Rone, alumni of The Golden Bachelorette.
The argument redirected attention during the party. Recap coverage reported that other contestants felt they had lost time with Grant; that describes their reaction, rather than an independently measured amount of time.
