Their collision begins with a land dispute and expands through two crimes, a dangerous secret, political and family pressure, and a romance that crosses the divide between the rival groups. Beneath the contested ground is silver, making the struggle over Angel’s Ridge and Jasper Hollow a fight over both survival and wealth.
Executive producer Christopher Keyser describes the show as a frontier story about “two families both at war and in love with each other” and a battle over “who owns the land and who makes the rules.” The result combines a gritty Western setting with an inter-family drama about chosen kinship, inheritance and power.

Setting and central conflict
The story takes place in Washington Territory in 1854, during a period when land claims, settlement and resource discoveries could redraw a community’s future. Fiona’s group treats its home as something earned through mutual protection. The Van Ness family approaches the same territory through status, property and dynasty.

Will there be a season 2?
The official Netflix materials establish the seven-episode first season but do not confirm a renewal or cancellation. A season 2 status should therefore be treated as unconfirmed rather than assumed from the finale’s unresolved tensions.
