Short answer: The strongest completed-manga version of Ryomen Sukuna ranks first, followed by Satoru Gojo, Yuta Okkotsu, Kenjaku, Yuki Tsukumo, Yorozu, Hajime Kashimo, Maki Zenin, Yuji Itadori, and Kinji Hakari.
There is one important correction to the title: no official Shueisha or Gege Akutami top-ten list exists. The ranking below is a manga-canon, evidence-based editorial list using the characters’ strongest substantially demonstrated forms through Chapter 271. It is heavily spoiler-filled through the end of the series.
How this ranking works
This is not an official Shueisha or Gege Akutami top-ten list. No canonical overall ranking has been published. It is an evidence-based editorial ranking built from manga-canon feats, official character information, and the completed main story.[CIT-001][CIT-002][CIT-003]
“As of 2025” means the complete manga canon available during 2025. The main series concluded with Chapter 271 in September 2024, so this list includes the strongest substantially demonstrated version of each character through the ending—not hypothetical future growth or anime-only material.[CIT-004][CIT-005]

The ranking weighs demonstrated combat performance, cursed-energy output and efficiency, domain expansion or anti-domain tools, speed, durability, versatility, tactical intelligence, and the ability to win across several different top-tier matchups. Extremely powerful but conditional abilities are considered separately from consistently dominant combatants.
Spoiler warning: The ranking below discusses major developments and battles through Chapter 271, including the conclusions of the Gojo, Kenjaku, and Sukuna conflicts.
The 10 strongest Jujutsu Kaisen characters, ranked
| Rank | Character | Why they rank here |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ryomen Sukuna | The most complete fighter in the series, with the output, skill, domain refinement, adaptability, and decisive counter to Gojo. |
| 2 | Satoru Gojo | The strongest modern sorcerer and Sukuna’s only demonstrated peer over an extended battle. |
| 3 | Yuta Okkotsu | A special-grade all-rounder with Rika, Copy, Reverse Cursed Technique, a domain, and exceptional reserves. |
| 4 | Kenjaku | More than a millennium of knowledge combined with body-hopping, Cursed Spirit Manipulation, barrier mastery, and an open domain. |
| 5 | Yuki Tsukumo | Star Rage gives her extraordinary physical force, Garuda utility, and a lethal final contingency. |
| 6 | Yorozu | Construction, insect armor, domain knowledge, and Perfect Sphere create an exceptionally dangerous win condition. |
| 7 | Hajime Kashimo | One of the Culling Game’s most dangerous fighters, with lightning-based cursed energy and the burst form Mythical Beast Amber. |
| 8 | Maki Zenin | Awakened Heavenly Restriction, Toji-level physical ability, stealth, weapons mastery, and the Split Soul Katana. |
| 9 | Yuji Itadori | End-of-series Yuji adds Shrine, Blood Manipulation, Reverse Cursed Technique, soul-targeting attacks, and a domain. |
| 10 | Kinji Hakari | Idle Death Gamble can make him extraordinarily difficult to kill, although his finishing power is less consistent than the fighters above him. |
1. Ryomen Sukuna
Ryomen Sukuna is the clearest number one. Official anime character material describes him as the King of Curses, a being who survived from more than a millennium earlier and defeated the combined efforts of jujutsu sorcerers during the golden age of jujutsu.[CIT-003] The completed manga confirms that his reputation is supported by a uniquely complete combat skill set rather than by raw cursed-energy output alone.
Sukuna possesses immense reserves, extraordinary efficiency, Reverse Cursed Technique, exceptional hand-to-hand ability, and an encyclopedic understanding of jujutsu. His open-barrier domain, Malevolent Shrine, can attack a wide area without the conventional closed barrier that many domains rely on. He also repeatedly demonstrates the ability to alter his plan while fighting, preserve resources, and use binding vows when a permanent limitation can produce a decisive short-term advantage.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsHis most important feat for this ranking is solving Satoru Gojo’s Infinity. Sukuna used the adaptation process associated with Mahoraga as a model for the world-cutting slash, then made the attack capable of bypassing Gojo’s defensive technique. The manga’s final result places Sukuna above Gojo by outcome and demonstrated problem-solving—not because the author published a separate ranking or because Sukuna was superior in every individual category.[CIT-006][CIT-007]
Even after the Shinjuku battle had weakened him, Sukuna remained the central threat that required coordinated intervention from nearly every surviving top-tier fighter. His combination of domain refinement, adaptability, technical knowledge, and willingness to spend resources for a winning line makes him the most reliable number one.
2. Satoru Gojo
Gojo is the strongest modern sorcerer and the only character shown fighting Sukuna at an essentially peerless level for an extended battle. Official character material identifies him as a special-grade sorcerer, and the official anime site describes him as the strongest sorcerer of the modern era.[CIT-002][CIT-008]
The Six Eyes and Limitless provide Gojo with an unusually efficient and precise form of control. Infinity makes ordinary contact almost impossible, while Blue, Red, and Hollow Purple give him powerful options for attraction, repulsion, and destructive force. Unlimited Void adds a domain-based win condition, and Gojo’s speed, close-quarters skill, healing, and tactical creativity prevent opponents from simply waiting for an opening.
Gojo ranks second only because Sukuna eventually found and executed a countermeasure to Infinity in their decisive encounter.[CIT-006] That result should not be misread as proof that Gojo was broadly outclassed. Their fight supports placing both characters in a separate apex tier above everyone else, with Sukuna taking the first position because he ultimately converted adaptation and binding-vow strategy into victory.
3. Yuta Okkotsu
Yuta is the strongest surviving conventional sorcerer by the end of the main story. His official character profile identifies him as special grade and describes his connection to Rika. Later official promotional material calls him a modern prodigy second only to Gojo.[CIT-002][CIT-009]
Yuta’s strength is breadth. He has enormous cursed-energy reserves, Reverse Cursed Technique, Rika as an external combat partner and storage source, Copy, strong barrier knowledge, and a domain expansion. This means he can attack, heal, adapt to unfamiliar techniques, fight alongside an independent partner, and change his approach when a first plan fails. He also temporarily used Kenjaku’s body-transfer technique to fight in Gojo’s body during the final battle—an extraordinary late-series extension of his already broad toolkit.
Yuta’s placement above Kenjaku is arguable rather than absolute. Yuta killed Kenjaku after Takaba created an opening, so the result was not a clean, neutral one-on-one victory.[CIT-010] Still, Yuta’s special-grade status, late-series domain, Rika, massive reserves, and successful participation in the Sukuna battle make him the safest number-three choice when the question is repeatable all-purpose combat ability.

4. Kenjaku
Kenjaku belongs in the top four because he combines more than a thousand years of jujutsu knowledge with body-hopping, Cursed Spirit Manipulation while inhabiting Suguru Geto’s body, Anti-Gravity System, Reverse Cursed Technique, advanced barrier skills, and an open domain. Official character material identifies him as the ancient sorcerer behind the Culling Game and describes his use of body transfer and Geto’s body.[CIT-001]
His defining advantage is preparation. Kenjaku understands that a technique’s conditions can matter more than its apparent destructive level. When he recognized the unusual nature of Takaba’s Comedian, he changed tactics instead of trying to overpower an ability that could invalidate conventional attacks. He also survived Yuki’s black-hole attack through Anti-Gravity System and precise timing.
Kenjaku was eventually killed by Yuta, but the ambush followed Takaba’s intervention and therefore does not prove that Yuta would straightforwardly defeat Kenjaku in a prepared duel.[CIT-010][CIT-011] Kenjaku’s knowledge, domain, barriers, cursed spirits, and ability to prepare for an opponent keep him above nearly every other candidate, even though Yuta’s versatility gives Yuta the higher placement in this particular ranking.
5. Yuki Tsukumo
Yuki is one of the very small number of officially recognized special-grade sorcerers.[CIT-002] Her cursed technique, Star Rage, adds virtual mass to her attacks and to Garuda, giving her extraordinary close-range destructive power without reducing her to a single predictable attack pattern.
Garuda functions as both a weapon and a source of additional battlefield pressure. Yuki also possessed Reverse Cursed Technique and domain-level knowledge, and she forced Kenjaku into a difficult fight despite his enormous experience and preparation. Her normal striking power alone gives her a high floor; the black-hole attack used at the end of the confrontation provides a potentially lethal final option.
Yuki does not rank higher because the manga shows relatively few completed fights and because her final black-hole attack is unusual and self-sacrificial rather than a repeatable standard technique.[CIT-012] Even with that limitation, Star Rage, Garuda, her special-grade status, and her performance against Kenjaku place her above most of the cast.
6. Yorozu
Yorozu was a reincarnated Heian-era sorcerer whose Construction technique reached an unusually sophisticated level. Her insect armor improves her physical performance, while Perfect Sphere creates a near-absolute destructive threat if she can deliver it through her domain or another successful setup.[CIT-013]
That combination makes Yorozu one of the most dangerous specialists in the series. She has the technical understanding expected from a sorcerer of the golden age, enough domain knowledge to create a credible finishing sequence, and a technique that can turn a single successful setup into a fight-ending event.

Her decisive battle was also against Sukuna while he was using Megumi’s Ten Shadows, rather than against an unambiguous neutral opponent. That context makes the fight harder to use as a simple measure of Yorozu’s overall level, but Perfect Sphere and her domain still make her too dangerous to place outside the uppermost tier.
7. Hajime Kashimo
Kashimo was an exceptionally dangerous reincarnated sorcerer from the past and one of the strongest players in the Culling Game. His base cursed energy carries a lightning-like property, and his combat instincts make even his ordinary form a serious threat.[CIT-001]
Mythical Beast Amber temporarily transforms Kashimo’s body into a high-output combat form. He used it to challenge Sukuna immediately after the Gojo fight, producing an enormous burst threat at precisely the moment when most opponents would have been unable to continue.
Kashimo ranks seventh because Mythical Beast Amber is effectively a one-use, self-destructive transformation. Sukuna also defeated him decisively after assuming his true form. Kashimo’s peak output is high enough to justify a place near the middle of the list, but his repeatability, survivability, and overall toolkit are less dependable than those of the characters ranked above him.

8. Maki Zenin
Awakened Maki belongs in the top ten because her Heavenly Restriction gives her extraordinary physical ability, senses, speed, and resistance to assumptions built around cursed energy. After Mai’s sacrifice, Maki’s physical condition became comparable to Toji Fushiguro’s, and she developed into a highly dangerous weapons specialist.[CIT-001]
The Split Soul Katana makes her especially threatening to opponents whose durability depends on cursed-energy reinforcement. Her lack of cursed energy also changes how many standard detection and targeting methods work against her. Combined with stealth, athleticism, weapon mastery, and close-range lethality, that makes Maki a consistent physical threat rather than a fighter dependent on a single temporary power-up.
Maki does not rank above the highest special grades because she lacks a domain expansion and the large-scale cursed techniques that give those characters more ways to control a battlefield. Her placement is also matchup-sensitive: against the wrong opponent, her physical advantages can be more valuable than a conventional domain; against a versatile domain user, her limited long-range options matter much more.
9. Yuji Itadori
End-of-series Yuji is substantially stronger than the version seen through most of the manga. By the final battle, he combines extreme physical ability, Black Flash experience, Reverse Cursed Technique, Blood Manipulation, Shrine, soul-targeting attacks, and a domain expansion.[CIT-014]

Yuji’s attacks against Sukuna were uniquely dangerous because they targeted the connection between Sukuna and Megumi. That matchup-specific effect was a major reason Yuji could pressure the final antagonist so effectively, but it should not be mistaken for a universal guarantee that Yuji defeats every character above him.
He ranks below Maki because his late-developed techniques are less fully established and because his strongest showing is closely tied to the special circumstances of Sukuna’s possession of Megumi. His growth potential is enormous, but future potential is excluded from a ranking of demonstrated strength as of the completed manga.
10. Kinji Hakari
Hakari rounds out the list because Idle Death Gamble can produce a jackpot state with effectively unlimited cursed energy, automatic Reverse Cursed Technique, and exceptional short-term survivability. His domain is unusual: rather than simply functioning as a conventional lethal trap, it gives Hakari a route to repeated periods in which killing him becomes extraordinarily difficult.
The official character profile records Yuta’s assessment that Hakari can be stronger than Yuta when he is “on a roll.”[CIT-002] That is an important statement, but it is conditional and should not be converted into a universal ranking above Yuta or the other special grades.

Jackpot makes him extremely hard to put down, but it does not automatically give him the destructive output, sure-hit lethality, or broad matchup coverage of the characters above him. He is a dangerous number ten—not a weak fighter—but the least complete member of this list when the ranking rewards both survival and reliable victory conditions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. The biggest omission: Fumihiko Takaba
Takaba is the most important caveat to any conventional Jujutsu Kaisen power ranking. Comedian can manifest events that Takaba sincerely finds funny, and it was powerful enough to neutralize Kenjaku’s conventional options during their encounter.[CIT-010][CIT-011]
Under the right psychological conditions, Takaba may be able to defeat characters ranked above him. The problem is reliability. Comedian depends on Takaba’s confidence and on his belief that the situation is funny. Kenjaku recognized and exploited that condition rather than treating the technique as a normal exchange of force.
Takaba is therefore a potentially top-tier reality-warping threat, but not a consistent top-ten combatant under the criteria used here. A ranking based purely on maximum theoretical upset potential could include him; a ranking based on repeatable performance across different matchups should keep him as the major omission.

Why the middle of the list is debatable
The top two are the highest-confidence placements. Sukuna and Gojo are the series’ explicit apex combatants, and their direct battle gives the ranking unusually strong evidence. Sukuna’s first place is still an inference from the final result and his demonstrated counter to Infinity, not an official author-issued order.
The Yuta–Kenjaku order has medium confidence because Yuta’s victory involved a prepared ambush after Takaba created an opening. A reader who prioritizes experience, preparation, and open-domain mastery could reasonably put Kenjaku third.
Yuki, Yorozu, and Kashimo form the most debatable middle tier. Yuki has exceptional normal striking power and a dangerous final option; Yorozu has one of the most threatening conditional techniques; and Kashimo has immense one-time burst potential. Their abilities are powerful in different ways, so the order changes if the priority is sustained combat, maximum burst damage, or a single prepared encounter.
Maki, Yuji, and Hakari are similarly matchup-dependent. Maki is the most consistently dangerous physical fighter, Yuji has the better late-series growth and a uniquely effective soul-based matchup against Sukuna, and Hakari has the best temporary survivability. None has a universal answer to every top-tier technique.

That is why this should not be presented as a mathematical ranking. Jujutsu Kaisen repeatedly makes technique compatibility, binding vows, surprise, preparation, and mental state decisive. A lower-ranked character can defeat a higher-ranked one under the right conditions, and Takaba demonstrates how quickly conventional power scaling can fail when a technique changes the rules of reality.
Notable near misses
Mahoraga: Mahoraga is a shikigami rather than a conventional independent sorcerer, so it is excluded from this character ranking even though its adaptation makes it one of the most dangerous entities in the series.
Suguru Geto: Geto’s body and Cursed Spirit Manipulation are already represented in Kenjaku’s placement, but the remaining evidence does not give standalone Geto the same complete combination of late-series feats and matchup coverage as the ten selected characters.
Jogo, Toji Fushiguro, Uraume, Ryu Ishigori, and Angel: Each has a credible case for consideration, but the dossier’s selected group has a stronger combination of peak demonstrations, finishing options, survivability, and broad matchup coverage. Toji and Maki also occupy a closely related physical archetype, making the list feel repetitive if both are ranked without a clear distinction; Maki’s completed-story development gives her the stronger case here.
Where to read the material behind the ranking
Because this ranking turns on specific manga feats, readers who want to verify the battles directly should use the completed series rather than relying on isolated anime clips or power-scaling summaries. VIZ lists the Jujutsu Kaisen Complete Box Set as containing all 30 main-series volumes, Volume 0, and a double-sided poster. VIZ gives the set an October 27, 2026 release date and links to Amazon retailers, so it should not be described as an already-released collection during 2025.[CIT-015]
For character reference material rather than the full story, the Jujutsu Kaisen Official Character Guide is the most directly relevant companion book. Readers interested specifically in the final Yuji–Sukuna conflict can also look for Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 30, which VIZ describes as the climax of their battle and the series’ final volume.[CIT-016]
Merchandise note: The Crunchyroll Store has listed licensed Gojo and Sukuna figures, including products from companies such as MegaHouse, SEGA, Banpresto, and Prime 1 Studio. Figure stock, release timing, pricing, and regional availability can change, so any specific collectible should be checked before purchase.[CIT-017][CIT-018]
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an official Jujutsu Kaisen strongest-character ranking?
No. Shueisha and Gege Akutami have not published a canonical overall top-ten power list. This is an evidence-based editorial ranking using manga feats and official character information.

Sukuna ultimately solved Infinity with the world-cutting slash and won their decisive battle. That places him first by demonstrated outcome, although the fight shows that Gojo was his near-peer rather than an ordinary opponent.
Why is Fumihiko Takaba not in the top ten?
Comedian can be extraordinarily powerful, but it depends on Takaba’s confidence and on what he sincerely finds funny. Because that condition is difficult to reproduce reliably, Takaba is treated as a major caveat rather than a conventional top-ten fighter.
Does the ranking include anime-only feats or future potential?
The ranking uses the completed main manga through Chapter 271, including historical and deceased characters at their strongest substantially demonstrated forms. Anime-only evidence and unshown future growth are excluded.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Sukuna and Gojo form the clear apex tier, with Sukuna taking first because he ultimately solved Infinity and won their decisive battle. Yuta, Kenjaku, Yuki, Yorozu, and Kashimo make up the most debatable high tier, while Maki, Yuji, and Hakari round out a matchup-sensitive top ten. Takaba remains the crucial exception: potentially unbeatable in the right mental state, but too conditional for a conventional ranking.
