This is an editorial selection—not an official ranking—based on the cars’ documented place in Porsche history, competition identity, rarity and Seinfeld’s expressed attachment. It draws chiefly on the 18 cars from his collection consigned to Gooding & Company’s March 2016 Amelia Island auction, with the later 911 Classic Club Coupe included because Porsche documented its delivery to him in 2023. It does not claim that all ten remain in his collection today.
How to read this selection
Gooding & Company’s 2016 announcement is a dated record of cars consigned from Seinfeld’s collection, not a current inventory. The ten below are selected for historical and personal significance, not ranked by value. Porsche’s later report on the 911 Classic Club Coupe adds a documented one-off delivered to Seinfeld in 2023. Where the available sources do not establish a specific race record or technical detail, the description stays with what they do document.
Ten significant cars associated with Jerry Seinfeld
1. 1973 Porsche 917/30 Can-Am Spyder
The 917/30 is the clearest competition-focused centerpiece in the documented 2016 group. Its Can-Am identity makes it a natural lead for a collection spanning Porsche’s racing heritage. Gooding lists it among the consigned cars; the announcement does not provide a race-by-race history for this individual example, so its significance here rests on its documented model and competition lineage rather than unverified claims about its own results.
2. 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder
Gooding singled out the 550 Spyder as one of three featured cars in its 2016 announcement. The model represents Porsche’s early sports-racing era and gives the collection an important pre-911 competition-era counterpart to its later racers. Gooding’s published estimate at the time was $5 million to $6 million. That was a 2016 estimate, not a confirmed sale price or a current valuation.

3. 1959 Porsche 718 RSK
Gooding identified the 718 RSK as a collection highlight and included it in the 18-car consignment list. Its place among the documented cars underscores the collection’s concentration on Porsche sports-racing models. The cited announcement does not detail this car’s individual competition record.
4. 1958 Porsche 356 A 1500 GS/GT Carrera Speedster
This Speedster is another of Gooding’s three featured cars. Its Carrera designation connects it to Porsche’s high-performance 356 lineage, while the Speedster body gives it a distinct place among the collection’s early road-going cars. Gooding’s 2016 estimate was $2 million to $2.5 million; it should be read as a dated auction estimate, not a present-day market figure.

5. 2000 Porsche Carrera GT Prototype
The consignment list explicitly identifies this car as a Carrera GT prototype. That status makes it a distinctive development-era entry alongside the collection’s production classics and racers. The announcement does not describe its engineering details, so the significance claim is limited to its documented prototype designation.
6. 1990 Porsche 962C
The 962C adds a later competition-oriented Porsche to the group. Gooding’s list verifies the model designation and its connection to Seinfeld’s collection at the time of the 2016 consignment, but does not establish this example’s individual race history. It is therefore best understood here as a representative of Porsche’s racing lineage rather than as a car with a claimed specific victory record.

Rank #3
7. 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 IROC RSR
Gooding prominently featured this 911 in its 2016 announcement. Its IROC RSR designation sets it apart from the collection’s road-focused 911s and places it firmly in the competition-themed side of Seinfeld’s collection. Gooding’s estimate at the time was $1.2 million to $1.5 million; that figure is historical and is not a realized price or current valuation.
8. 1963 Porsche 356 B 2000 GS Carrera 2 Coupe
This coupe represents another branch of Porsche’s Carrera lineage. Gooding included it in the 2016 consignment, providing a documented link between the earlier 356 era and the later racing and 911 models in the group. The cited release does not state an individual competition record or a valuation for this car.
9. 1949 Porsche 356/2, number 40
Porsche reported in 2015 that Ferry Porsche and his team made 52 Gmünd-built 356/2 coupés; Seinfeld’s car is number 40. That limited early series gives the car a special place in the company’s origins. In Porsche’s feature, Seinfeld described it as: “Hand-built in Gmünd, everything’s original.” The statement records his view of the car, rather than an independent authentication report.
10. Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe
This later addition is a one-of-one Sonderwunsch project completed by Porsche Classic with the Porsche Club of America. Porsche says it is based on a 1998 911 Carrera and was delivered to Seinfeld in 2023. Its naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six is rated at 381 horsepower in Porsche’s account. The car stands out for documented singularity and a clear delivery date, unlike the older cars whose current ownership status is not established by the 2016 auction announcement.

The car Seinfeld called his most treasured
A car just outside this ten-car selection deserves special mention: the 1970 Porsche 908/03, chassis 008. In a 2018 Porsche interview, Seinfeld identified it as “The 1970 Targa Florio-winning Porsche 908/03 chassis number 008” and called it his most treasured possession. That makes it the strongest documented example of personal attachment in the sources cited here, even though it is not one of the ten selected from the 2016 consignment and later documented addition.
The same 2018 interview records his desert-island choices as “A 356 Speedster, a 964 Carrera RS, and a 918 Spyder.” Those preferences offer another window into his tastes, but they are a snapshot from that interview—not a current inventory or a ranking of his collection.
What the published auction estimates do—and do not—say
Gooding’s 2016 estimates show how the auction house positioned three featured cars before that sale. They should not be treated as confirmed sale prices or current market values.
| Car | Gooding estimate, 2016 | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder | $5,000,000–$6,000,000 | Dated auction estimate, not a reported realized price or current valuation. |
| 1958 Porsche 356 A 1500 GS/GT Carrera Speedster | $2,000,000–$2,500,000 | Dated auction estimate, not a reported realized price or current valuation. |
| 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 IROC RSR | $1,200,000–$1,500,000 | Dated auction estimate, not a reported realized price or current valuation. |
What Seinfeld has said about the collection
In Gooding’s 2016 announcement, Seinfeld said, “Each one of these cars is a pinnacle of mechanical culture to me. Many are the best examples that exist in the world.” That is a statement of his own regard, not independent authentication of each car’s condition or standing. He also told Gooding, “I’ve never bought a car as an investment.” In Porsche’s 2018 interview, he described the 911 as “A true sports car. Intelligent, complete engineering, and brilliant design language.” Taken together, those comments help explain why a list based only on estimated prices would miss an important part of the collection’s appeal.
