Forbes’ 2025 estimates put Tom Brady at the top of its highest-paid television-host ranking, at $37.5 million. The list is broader than talk shows: it includes sports, food and lifestyle personalities, a courtroom-show host, political presenters and late-night hosts. The figures are estimated pretax earnings from television work, not audited salary disclosures.
Forbes’ 10 highest-paid TV hosts in 2025
The ranking below preserves Forbes’ order and estimated amounts. “Host” covers a wider range of television roles than the everyday meaning of “talk-show host.”

Why this is not a ranking of talk-show hosts alone
Only some names fit a narrow definition of talk-show host. Oliver presents a late-night program; Hannity and Maddow are political television presenters. Brady, Fieri, Flay and Ramsay represent sports or food and lifestyle programming, while Sheindlin is associated with courtroom television. Forbes ranks television hosts broadly, rather than isolating hosts of conversational talk shows. The title’s “talk show” wording therefore describes the search question, not the ranking’s exact scope.

What Forbes’ earnings estimates measure
These are not publicly disclosed or independently audited salaries. Forbes estimates pretax earnings paid by media companies to talent for television work, drawing on interviews with agents, lawyers, managers, executives and other industry experts. Representation fees are not deducted.
The estimates also do not necessarily capture a host’s complete income. Radio work, endorsements, businesses, personal appearances, investments and other non-television earnings may fall outside the figures. As a result, the ranking compares estimated TV-related earnings, not total wealth or total annual income.
Why a host’s television earnings can take different forms
A single dollar figure can reflect different arrangements, so it should not automatically be read as a conventional on-air salary. Compensation may come through a salary, a broader production deal or a licensing arrangement. Forbes uses Guy Fieri’s overall deal and Pat McAfee’s license-to-air arrangement as examples of distinct ways television talent can be paid; Ryan Seacrest’s radio earnings illustrate a separate income stream that should not be confused with the TV-only estimate.

The top ten is not a measure of late-night television alone. Forbes estimated Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel at $16 million each and Stephen Colbert at $15 million in 2025—below the top ten’s listed figures. Forbes also put the combined earnings of its 25 highest-paid television hosts at $582 million and described budget pressure and contraction in late-night television.

That backdrop helps explain why comparisons across program types can mislead: the list combines television work with very different formats and business arrangements. As Boston Consulting Group managing director and senior partner Neal Zuckerman put it to Forbes, “There’s only so much you can spend on content in order to make a reasonably profitable business.”
