This ranking weighs competition significance, rarity, engineering distinction and documented personal meaning—not whether a car is still in his garage. Several entries are former collection cars; Porsche confirmed his acquisition of the 911 Classic Club Coupe in 2023.
How the ranking works
“Coolest” is subjective, so the order favors cars with a compelling combination of racing pedigree, unusual specification, rarity or a meaningful connection to Seinfeld. For former collection cars, the evidence establishes past ownership or collection membership, not present ownership. The strongest contemporary inventory record is Gooding & Company’s 2016 announcement of 18 vehicles offered from his collection: 16 Porsches and two Volkswagens. Gooding & Company’s 2016 announcement
The 10 coolest Porsches Jerry Seinfeld has owned
1. 1973 Porsche 917/30 Can-Am Spyder
A headline choice for a race-car-centered list: the 917/30 is a purpose-built Can-Am Spyder, not a road-going Porsche with racing trim. Gooding listed it among the cars offered from Seinfeld’s collection in 2016, and Rennlist also included it in its selection of his standout former Porsches. Its competition-focused identity and place among the most distinctive cars associated with his collection make it the ranking’s top pick. Rennlist’s 2021 selection
2. 1959 Porsche 718 RSK
The 718 RSK brings another unmistakably competition-oriented Porsche into the top tier. Gooding listed the 1959 car in the 2016 collection offering, and Rennlist also named it among Seinfeld’s notable former cars. The appeal here is the contrast with his later road cars: this is a purpose-built sports-racing machine from an earlier era. Gooding & Company

- Pullback Action
- Die Cast Metal Body
- PULL BACK ACTION WITH FREE ROLLING WHEELS
3. 1990 Porsche 962C
Rennlist identifies the 962C as one of Seinfeld’s notable former Porsches. Its inclusion gives the list a later-generation endurance-racing presence alongside the earlier 917/30 and 718 RSK. The available ownership reporting supports calling it a former Seinfeld car; it does not establish a detailed race record or present-day ownership. Rennlist
4. 2000 Porsche Carrera GT prototype
The important word is prototype: this was not simply a production Carrera GT. Gooding listed a Carrera GT prototype in the 2016 collection offering, and Rennlist identifies the prototype as one of Seinfeld’s standout cars. Its place here reflects the rarity and developmental character signaled by that specification, rather than unsupported claims about its performance or engineering details. Gooding & Company

- New 2022 Launch Model in Blue
- Officially licensed scale model collectible
- Die-cast metal with plastic parts & rubber tyres
- Working steering wheel suspension system
- Openable doors, engine cover & boot
5. 1986 Porsche 959
Rennlist reports the 1986 959 among Seinfeld’s standout former Porsches. It earns a place in this selection as a landmark road-car name within a collection otherwise rich in competition machinery. The model year and ownership are based on secondary reporting. Rennlist
6. 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 IROC RSR
Gooding included the 1974 911 Carrera 3.0 IROC RSR in its 2016 list of cars offered from Seinfeld’s collection. Its IROC RSR designation makes this one of the ranking’s most overtly competition-oriented 911s. The auction announcement establishes its place in the collection offered for sale, not a current Seinfeld holding. Gooding & Company
Rank #3

7. 1970 Porsche 911S “Henri”
Rennlist includes “Henri,” a 1970 911S, among Seinfeld’s coolest former Porsches. The nickname gives this car an individual identity within the 911 lineage, and its appeal is different from the purpose-built racers above: it is a road-car story with a distinctly personal label. The available source supports the model and former-ownership framing, but not a fuller provenance. Rennlist
8. 1994 Porsche 911 Speedster
RM Sotheby’s describes this 911 Speedster as factory-ordered and owned by Seinfeld, and notes modifications by Andial. That combination of a specific factory order and named specialist work makes it stand apart from a generic Speedster listing. The auction description is evidence of past ownership, not proof that Seinfeld still has the car. RM Sotheby’s listing

9. 1998 Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe
This is the list’s clearest documented later acquisition: Porsche reported that Seinfeld took possession of the one-off 911 Classic Club Coupe in 2023. The Sonderwunsch project is based on a 1998 911 Carrera of the 996 generation, while its chassis, brakes and engine come from the 996.2 911 GT3. That blend of an earlier Carrera base and GT3 hardware makes it a singular modern-era entry. Porsche Newsroom USA, 2023
10. 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder
Gooding’s 2016 collection announcement also lists a 1955 550 Spyder. It rounds out this ranking with another early sports-racing Porsche, giving the group a different era and silhouette from the later prototypes and 911s. As with the other cars from that sale, the source documents inclusion in the collection offering, not current ownership. Gooding & Company

The ranking’s first-place car is not necessarily Seinfeld’s personal favorite. In a 2018 Porsche interview, he called the 1970 Targa Florio-winning Porsche 908/03, chassis 008, his most treasured possession. He also named a 356 Speedster, 964 Carrera RS and 918 Spyder as his desert-island choices. His answer offers a useful counterpoint: a collector’s own attachment need not match a ranking based on rarity, racing identity and documented provenance. Porsche Newsroom, 2018 interview
Gooding’s 2016 announcement quoted Seinfeld describing the cars as “a pinnacle of mechanical culture” to him. That sentiment captures why a list like this can range from a Can-Am Spyder to a bespoke 911: the connection is not limited to one kind of Porsche.
