Netflix announced that That ’90s Show Part 2 would premiere on June 27, 2024, and that date was the release. The announcement called the next installment “Part 3,” rather than giving it a separate season-based title. Netflix’s June 6, 2024 teaser announced both dates.
Did Netflix change Part 3’s release date?
Yes. Netflix initially announced October 24, 2024, for Part 3. The date was later superseded: Netflix’s title listing gives August 22, 2024, as the premiere date, and Netflix Tudum reported on August 23 that Part 3 was streaming.

Why is it called Part 2 or Part 3 instead of season 2?
Netflix presented the show in three parts: the original Part 1, followed by Part 2 and Part 3. Its title page displays three parts. “Season 2” is a common way to describe the later installments, but Part 2 and Part 3 are the labels Netflix used. The available announcements do not give a reason for the split or the date change.

Netflix describes the series as a spin-off of That ’70s Show. It follows Leia Forman during a summer in Point Place, Wisconsin, with her friends and grandparents Kitty and Red. Netflix rates the series TV-14.
Was That ’90s Show renewed?
In an October 3, 2024 report, What’s on Netflix quoted actor Kurtwood Smith, who played Red Forman, saying, “Netflix will not be renewing.” The report also quoted Smith saying the team would shop the show elsewhere. That was Smith’s statement as reported, not a Netflix cancellation announcement; the cited report does not establish whether a later revival happened.
