According to a June 2024 report by TMZ, a Los Angeles judge granted Telli Swift a temporary restraining order against Deontay Wilder on June 3, 2024. The order reportedly required Wilder to stay at least 100 yards from Swift and their daughter and was scheduled to remain in effect through June 25. Swift’s descriptions of abuse were allegations in her application, not findings established by the report.
What the June 2024 order reportedly required
TMZ reported on June 6, 2024, that Swift applied for a temporary restraining order in Los Angeles late the previous week and that a judge granted it on June 3. The report said Wilder was required to remain at least 100 yards away from Swift and their daughter. The order was scheduled to remain effective until June 25, when the parties were expected to appear before a judge.
TMZ’s account of the order and the claims supporting it was based on Swift’s application; the report did not establish the allegations as judicial findings. The reviewed reporting does not establish what happened at the June 25 hearing or the order’s status afterward. It therefore does not show that the temporary order became permanent or remains in force.
What Swift alleged in her application
As reported by TMZ, Swift accused Wilder of choking her “at least five times” since 2018, spitting on her, and once pressing her face into a pillow until she said she nearly suffocated. She also alleged that he ridiculed her, threatened her belongings, accessed her laptop, and used the home surveillance system to spy on her. These are claims attributed to Swift’s application, not independently established facts.

TMZ reproduced a statement attributed to Swift in the application: “I believe Deontay is capable of being physically violent towards me upon his return in June because he has expressed that he is furious with me since April and has been physically abusive with me in the past.” The statement explains Swift’s expressed concern in her application; it is not a judicial conclusion.

A separate case was reported in April 2026. The BBC reported that Kerron Swift, Telli Swift’s son, filed a civil lawsuit alleging that Wilder abused him between 2016 and 2024, when Kerron was a minor. The BBC said it had not seen the lawsuit, but Wilder’s lawyer, Paul Patterson, confirmed its filing in Los Angeles. Patterson told the BBC that Wilder denied the allegations and “had never physically disciplined any child.”
Rank #2
TMZ’s April 2026 report described alleged incidents Kerron said occurred in 2016, 2019, and 2022, and listed claims including battery, assault, emotional distress, and false imprisonment. It also reported Patterson’s denial. The claims remain allegations in a separate civil case; neither that case nor its allegations establish what happened in Swift’s 2024 application.
