Disney’s official recaps of the 2025 Walt Disney Studios Showcase list no Star Wars or Marvel project announcements. Instead, the presentation featured films and other projects from Pixar, 20th Century, Walt Disney Animation, and Disney+. Here is what Disney said was announced, with release dates labeled as originally announced in 2025—not as confirmation of current release status.
Were Star Wars or Marvel projects announced at the showcase?
Disney’s official recaps do not identify a Star Wars or Marvel project reveal in the Walt Disney Studios Showcase at Destination D23. The summaries list announcements spanning other studios and franchises, including Toy Story, TRON, Zootopia, and Ice Age. The Walt Disney Company’s August 31, 2025 recap and D23’s showcase recap are the basis for that distinction.
Disney’s wider event coverage separately mentioned a Doctor Strange-inspired lounge aboard the Disney Destiny. That is not evidence of a Marvel Studios announcement at this showcase. The recaps do not establish whether a different Destination D23 presentation made a Star Wars or Marvel announcement, so the absence here should not be taken as a claim about the entire event.
