What record did Taylor Swift break on New Heights?
Guinness World Records recognized the episode for the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube: 1.3 million simultaneous viewers on August 13, 2025. “Concurrent” means people watching at the same time during the live broadcast. It is different from a cumulative view count, which can grow as people watch later or replay an episode. Guinness World Records later reported that the episode had passed 20 million YouTube views in total.
What does the 9.26 million figure mean?
The 9.26 million figure was attributed to Forbes as an early cumulative YouTube-view snapshot for the morning of August 14, the day after the episode appeared. It does not describe simultaneous viewers, and the precise counting methodology for that figure is not established here. Treat it as an attributed early count, not as the Guinness record.
Subsequent reports gave higher cumulative totals as the episode continued attracting views. These figures refer to different snapshots and should not be read as competing estimates of the same moment:

Why are the audience numbers different?
They measure different things at different times. A live concurrent count is a peak or point-in-time audience watching together. A cumulative YouTube total builds as views accrue after release. Cross-platform clip plays add another measure: they include shorter videos on social accounts, not just the full podcast, and can include repeat or overlapping audiences.

Forbes reported an estimate from analytics firm Mondo Metrics of more than half a billion video views across platforms, measured from the first teaser on Tuesday through 5 p.m. ET Thursday, August 14. Its reported platform totals were 379 million Instagram video views, 61.6 million on X, 34.5 million on TikTok, 1.1 million on Threads, and 51.4 million on Facebook Reels. These are estimates across different formats and platforms—not a count of unique people or full-episode viewers. Forbes’ report attributes the estimate to Mondo Metrics.
What happened in the episode?
Swift joined Travis and Jason Kelce on New Heights on August 13, 2025, as part of the rollout for her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. She revealed the album by showing the hosts a vinyl record. The conversation also touched on regaining control of her past recordings, the Eras Tour, football, and her relationship with Travis Kelce. Swift called the show her “favorite podcast,” according to the Associated Press recap.

The live YouTube stream cut out roughly an hour and 44 minutes into the broadcast, when the audience count had reached about 1.3 million, according to TheWrap. The Associated Press described the audio program as just over two hours and the YouTube version as about an hour and 45 minutes.

When comparing this appearance with another podcast episode, use the same kind of measure and include the platform and timing. A concurrent-view record is not directly comparable with a first-day view total or a social-video estimate. For this episode, the verified record is 1.3 million simultaneous YouTube viewers; 9.26 million is an early cumulative-view figure attributed to Forbes.
