At Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, 2024, stadium cameras showed Taylor Swift chugging a drink and setting down her cup at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Contemporary reports said her friend Ashley Avignone, seated beside her, joined in. The coverage did not establish what the drink was.
What happened in the Super Bowl clip?
During the San Francisco 49ers–Kansas City Chiefs game, Swift appeared on the stadium video board as she drank from a cup and put it down. The NFL account shared the clip with the caption “Icon,” according to The Independent.
Reports identified Avignone, sitting beside Swift, as joining her. The Associated Press live coverage republished by News4JAX and a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report republished by Yahoo Sports described her participation. Neither report provides a direct account from Avignone.
What was Taylor Swift drinking?
The reports do not firmly identify the beverage or a brand. The Independent described it as a drink and said it appeared to be beer; that is an impression, not a confirmed identification. No measured amount is reported, so the clip does not establish how much she drank.
